Hi hambone

News is regarded as P2P and normal shaping rules would apply. Using any method to bypass these rules would be in breach of the AUP.

I trust this answers your question.

Kind regards
MWEB Guy

No, actually. My question was not whether bypassing shaping rules was in breach of the AUP; but rather whether I would be bypassing the shaping rules with that specific setup. Would I be bypassing the shaping rules(and in so doing breaching the AUP) if I connect vis SSL to eunews.usenetnow.net on port 5563?

Thanks and sorry for the confusion.

thanks Mweb guy I will keep you posted, thanks again for the awesome jobs you do on the forums

Any idea why torrents have had no speeds recently? I havne been able to get more than 5kb/s since thursday on very well seeded torrents.

they probably set torrents to the LOWEST priority on their side, I see more and more ISP's are doing this now :(

I dunno if this might help but im from the East Rand Joburg area.
And concerning the speed change not really, I remember before 9PM I downloaded an 15MB patch on my PS3 and it went like smooth under a minute .. Then all of a sudden everything went to hell, I rested my router, and even tried some random downloading site to see if it was maybe just PSN. But saw I only had like +/-20Kb/s on the clock? Even other downloads suffered a bit. When I left this morning for work it seemed like nothing changed regarding to downloading speed.

P.S did some speed testing when everything went to hell last night and this was my connection which doesnt make sense to me at all!

I experienced the same, best is to speedtest from different sites to the same server all in quick succession. I have found that my Mweb service is cycling up and down and sometimes minutes apart yet I do not find the same with other ISP's. My PSN lag was again terrible last night.

Q MwebHuy Where does Mweb feature here?

Hooray!

Hi MWEB Guy

Just an update to let you know I am able to connect to the M-Web news server again for the first time in almost 5 days and I'm getting a very decent speed too, so whatever you may have done I'm :D...

Thanks so much for your effort and right now you have a happy customer again!

google and download the app called SAbnz

then use search engine for nzb files, like nzbmatrix.com, or the local ones is nzbsa.co.za and newhost.za.net , both invite only.

then you go to sabnz client it runs your broswer, just set server to news.mweb.co.za 3 connections.

then you can just add files to client, with the add nzb button.

someone could probably give you more in depth detail if you ask for it :P

That does sound like too much hassle , I'll rather stick to my torrents and MF/MU sites :D

Well up to 244kb/s now and 0kb/s on torrents. No balance at all.

Edit : Think i spoke too soon it just died to 12kb/s

I have been unable to connect to usenetserver since yesterday. "Connection timed out". Is there a particular reason for this? I tried during office hours up to 1 am. If it's only supposed to connect between 1am and 7am I did not test in that time period.
