MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

Browsing websites which would not be in mwebs cache are slow to say the least, on a 4mb line, I don't think I should be waiting anytime at all to browse (obviously media and location vary results) but it has just in general been crap for the whole day today. If it wasn't for the fact that, the whole service goes for a ball of crap quite often, I wouldn't moan about it, but clearly somewhere the new shaper seems to cause issues where there shouldn't be.

Yea, mines also stuck at success... Idk, this only started happening at the first of the month. I just got an account with mweb last month and everything was fine up until the 1st. I even tried connecting with my telkom account and it works 100% but when I try with mweb it just gets stuck at "success".

Hi Guys,

It seems there are a lot of customers complaining of the same type of issue.
I have logged it with the engineers to investigate and await their feedback on the matter.

Kind regards,
MWEB Guy

Cant we just have 1 week without serious issues, not even including the new excessive shaping. Just one week without major issues for a decent portion of your subscribers...That too much to ask?

All was well the last two days and at 3AM this morning the lag on PSN KZ3 became unbearable. Whats up duck!

This evening the lag are so bad I get banned from the KZ3 games. They must be thinking that I am using a lag switch to cheat. This is just crazy.

Something must be up... downloads are dropping then few minutes coming back again then dropping. Youtube streaming slow aswell as browsing. Not the norm

OK, to be fair to Mweb I tested PSN KZ3 with Afrihost capped and WebAfrica trial account and on all three I get exactly the same problems. Seems to me its either my equipment or some other issue, WTFK.

Then my money would be on either congestion, or just a less than awesome experience connecting to KZ3 servers from South Africa - we are talking about playing an FPS internationally which is never ideal.

If memory serves me correctly we have attempted a congestion check for you in the past?

Yeah internationals never end well, I can still see myself swearing like a mofo back in the days with Gears 2

Hi Will

Gmail is working on my side again, thank you. I cannot comment on Gtalk because i don't use it.

Thanks for the feedback kimbo.

EDIT: I have also received feedback from our engineers indicating that the Google issue they were tracking on Friday seems to be resolved now. If anyone is still experiencing problems with Gmail, or Gtalk disconnections please let us know and we'll escalate again.

Thanks Will@Mweb, I have never been offered a congestion check but will be happy if you do, what do I need to do from my side? I wonder as this spate of bad experience comes and goes. I wonder if my Telkom line is suspect as I had problems in the past where my phone line quality deterioration at times, how can this be checked. What software or tests can I run to check for noise, dropped packets, etc.

Not too shabby, though I'm really thinking about moving to the 1mbit line
