Did the test on the Mweb site and it's pretty much how it should be. But why is it that every other speed test tells me different?

Upload Speed: 96 kbps (12 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 249 ms
Jitter: 2 ms
Packet Loss: 0%

MyBB speedtest:

International

Download Speed: 251 kbps (31.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 99 kbps (12.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 309 ms

Speedtest.net:

London

Up: 0.10mb/s
Ping: 316

Ok so Mweb phoned me and told me that any speed test other than the Mweb one will show bad speeds, and it is normal. I'm not very computer savvy, so I guess what they say is true.

Everything is crawling for me right now.

Same here. And this is 6PM on a Friday...
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1376936404.png (EDIT: That little .png file takes me 20 seconds to load in Chrome, or 5 seconds, or 30 seconds, not even god knows how long since instability rules all at this moment)
Seriously?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Someone bring me a ****ing pigeon, please.
Pressing the F5 key right now in anything resembling a browser means Friday night social suicide... *Puts on Hipster Eyewear and wool scarf* *Ironically tries to download MWeb cancellation form*

Surely, it all depends on whether that site's IP address range has been added to the "Bulk Downloading" list on MWeb's network shaper. If it has, it will shaped otherwise it won't.

Hi RaptorSA,

Please see my PM I sent you.

Kind regards,
MWEB Guy

The last few days have been the best speeds on torrents and usenet since I joined over a year ago. Wish youtube was in the same boat but am still well happy at the moment. Long may it last.

Some feedback from my side. Since the last time I posted here I have not heard anything from Mweb re congestion. I have due to the fact that KZ3 and the U3 beta was unplayable then decided to set my PS3 up as DMZ server and since then I had no issues? Why there were such an improvement I do not know, maybe it just coincidentally happened while Mweb "improved" all by itself. :)

so i waisted My cash buying those accounts:(

If you use any method of bulk downloading that is not subject to Mweb's network shaping, it could be considered as an AUP abuse. So the speed you are getting on the premium account is what is allowed given prevailing network conditions. I'm sure that the speed would improve in off-peak times.

have been getting bad speeds on Steam and filehost downloading (use Fileserve and usually get quite good speed) for last couple of days.

do see that others mention it as well, but then some say they are going fine.

@Will: if we request, is there any chance you could tell us if our line has been throttled/shaped before we try and sort it out with Telkom (to see if maybe something wrong with line)?

Yes it sucks a download that normally takes 2-3 hours on fileserve now takes almost 20 hours. So much for paying a premium account.(And that's on weekends and after midnight)

Mine is maxing out at +- 150kb/s during the day. At night I get max 60kb/s. Been like this since last week.

Afternoon Guys, STEAM slower at night than in the day is strange. Please also confirm that you are using the MWEB server. Please also monitor the download speeds you are obtaining on STEAM and please provide me some more feedback regarding your experience.
