I don't know the exact server to ping/trace, can you help me on that front?

I have requested that one of our gamers test the whether they are able to replicate your problem and I am now awaiting feedback.

Kind regards,
MWEB Guy

I do not have access to more details regarding the DSLAM outage, however I can enable sms notification for when the outage is resolved.

Ping statistics for 84.234.17.86:
Packets: Sent = 41, Received = 29, Lost = 12 (29% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 187ms, Maximum = 306ms, Average = 237ms
Control-C

Look at that, cant play anything, massive int timeouts. Mweb, what the hell is up with this? Its not my line cause telkom account is fine, no timeouts. What the hell are you doing? U gonna keep ignoring a customer with ping like that?

Cannot do anything on the internet can only browse. Stop your BS Mweb. If i get a reply about these timeouts again saying "as discussed your bandwidth profile does not meet the requirements for wow" I will seriously go ****ing crazy.

Another one:

Ping statistics for 84.234.17.86:
Packets: Sent = 186, Received = 149, Lost = 37 (19% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 274ms, Maximum = 802ms, Average = 349ms

When everything is fine i see 200ms with no timeouts to this IP address. Its not the site either, cause everything is lagging like crazy.

My internet is CRAWLING at the moment. Even slower than 384k and I am currently on 1mb uncapped! Guess it's time to go to bed lol...

3 hours of being unable to do anything and its finally back to normal. This is how normal looks:

Ping statistics for 84.234.17.86:
Packets: Sent = 17, Received = 17, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 184ms, Maximum = 196ms, Average = 187ms

Thing is, these crazy spike/timeout stuff happens every 2nd day about. At random times. Mweb, why does this happen? Why dont u fix the problem? Will you even respond with something useful?

When it happens again can you do a side by side ping comparison with mweb and telkom to bruce.ferrago.net ? I'll slap in my tracert tonight when I arrive home and we could use this for comparison.

Then also a 6MB speed test using MyTest (http://testmy.net/dl-6MB&nfw=1) as well as ping test. I see ip you are pinging are UK based, maybe we should do a ping test to UK...

Please use a pathping test so we can see where the packetloss takes place, also please provide comparative test results with your alternate account taken at the same time so that we have a direct comparison to work with.

Okay when it happens again I will do that. What is a pathping test and how do i do it? Do you mean tracert?

It's very similar to a tracert, but provides more detailed analysis of the connection quality to each hop. You'll find that it's one of the standard tests requested by Blizzard in their troubleshooting and has been available in MS Windows since XP (I think).
