So, for the past 3-4 years ive had ADSL my line stats have been rubbish. This was a screenshot from last week and the line has always been like that.IMG_17012014_215826.png

And so till this morning my dsl and voice went out for about 3 hours it came back on and i always check my stats and line sync hoping it it has not worsened. I opened up my router admin the line was syncing on a full 2meg :0 i checked the stats and it had changed to this: IMG_30012014_144828.png I was in utter shock i still confirmed with afrihost and even asked my friend if im reading the stats right. I think that telkom finally finally moved me to an MSAN :) I live in Edenvale/Bedfordview border and so for those of you on the edenvale exchange 453/454 numbers im not sure what other numbers are on the edenvale IMAX. Your line will improve i know its agony and the most annoying thing in the world but just wait it out telkak will move you to an MSAN soon.

They're spending their budget on infrastructure before financial year end. We have a new exchange (finally) being installed in our area. My current line stats are the same as the one in your first pic.

Jaa between now and the end of the financial year targets have to be met so shyt will happen between now and then , expect to see many MSAN/ISAM commissioned .

It is nice to see telkom do something right for a change. Ive been waiting for months to be moved to an msan and they finally did.

Can I pester Telkom to do this for me?

If you have MSAN'S in your area log multiple faults I think last week I had 3 faults running I nagged to be moved. The technicians couldn't really say much and then today BOOM! From crap internet to highly stable internet.

How do I find out if there are MSANS in the area?

Well do you see any large white telkom boxes around your area? if so just constantly nag to be moved.

Apparently I stay 3.6km away from the exchange. I don't even know where it is :( so I can't be sure. I'll keep an eye out for them though!

i dont think you will be able to get VDSL when you are 3.6km away from it?

I stay 8.6Km from the exchange. Remember When you on VDSL or an MSAN its fibre to the exchange not copper anymore its copper from the MSAN to your home therefore it reduces loop length and that's what it did for me see my second screenshot
