My voting experience

They queue by me was filling up fast. Glad I got it done early. I was banking on the fact that the cold would hold a few people back and many might decide to vote later. At least it seems I was right.

I think the rest of the day as it warms up will get worse queue wise

Got there at 06h45, about 50 people ahead of us. Done by 07h30-ish. Not bad.

Rich #@$%holes let their spouses push in 30min after we'd joined. Sigghh...

Got home and discovered there was a voting station 50m from our complex's gate, LOL.

Durbanville voting was very smooth. I was out in 20 min. They were processing people as quickly as they were arriving at around 7:15am. I think it'll be relatively quick there all day.

lol I got accused of voting twice!!!

"Eish you were just in here!!! You washed your nails!!!"

In her defense, my nails did look like they have been scrubbed =\

Then she went to town with the ink!

LOL, go to Wimpy and demand a JUMBO coffee!
:D

Just got back now, went at 10am with about 10 people ahead of us. Took 10 mins in the queue and the IEC officials were friendly and fast at processing people. My first time voting...feels very good.

Got in the queue at around 9:30 at Da Gama Park, took around 10 minutes with 15 people in front. Very snappy!

Eish. Got there at 7am sharp - finished at 9am. Then went to my gf's station. Thankfully she was done in 30 mins. Seems many wanted to get it out of the way early in the day.

Arrived at 10:30, done at 11. Election officials were efficient and friendly.

Got there at 10:30, left at 11:00. There were about 100 people in front of me, and about 100 behind me. Friendly staff, and efficient process. Got my mark ... going to get my coffee! :D

Finished in about 40 minutes... Small town, so not to many people... But they only had 2 voting booths, so it was a bit of a bottelneck... And ofcourse the busses from the old peeps homes kind of made you stand still for a bit...

Nearest wimpy is about 50 k's away... Dont think its worth spending R30 on petrol to get coffee that I can make for cheap cheap at home ;)

Pff... Takes loved ones out for a nice family breakfast :D Wimpy does a fairly nice breakfast, methinks :p

I feel good about myself for voting.

I did lick my left thumb nail just before they marked it with the ink coki.

It rubbed off nicely afterwards.

It took me 25min to vote.

Very efficient and IEC peeps were very friendly and helpful.

My mother walked past a young ANC supporter, and asked who she should vote for (since she hadn't made up her mind yet).
The youngster replied "Ma'am, you should vote for the party who you would like to speak on your behalf. The one that gives you hope the most".

If only all voters thought like this kid.

:/
