My Windows 10 experience

Same thing happened to me - downloaded home instead of home single language for my sister's laptop :o.

I kept all the versions I downloaded so I can upgrade other laptops / pcs. Currently have the following versions:

- Home - 64 bit
- Home single language - 64 bit
- Pro - 32/64 bit

So let my understand if it asks for a product key when it loads its wrong version?

Morning

Did two upgrades from win8.1 to win10.
The I bought win10-pro did a clean install. My SSD needed to run in ACHI mode, Samsung recommendation.

I ran both times into Windows Office problems with Outlook. Finally got that fixed. Strange that Microsoft never picked this up.

What were the problems with outlook?

Could not send e-mail. Under Test it worked fine. As soon as I wanted to send mail it came up with error codes.
I had to go to Admin prompt and run a command from there.

Original message: Sending' reported error (0x800CCC13) : 'Cannot connect to the network. Verify your network connection or modem.'

Run in Admin mode, at command prompt type the following: sfc /scannow

This fixed it.

Ever since I upgraded my newly bought Alienware 15 to Windows 10, various things stopped working, such as the AlienFX, TactX etc. Alienware Command Center just doesn't detect my keyboard anymore and Dell's technical support does not know how to fix this, furthermore my 4K TrueLife Touchtechnology screen is not a touchscreen anymore, that isn't working either... I had to fix other things such as audio myself and recently found out that my USB ports are also defect. I do not yet want to set my laptop back to the previous OS W 8.1, because I know this is fixable. Is there anyone who has experienced these issues aswell? Or is there anyone who knows how to fix these things? You would be for ever honored by me! :)

Try the Windows 8 drivers in compatability mode http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/alienware-15/drivers/advanced

Try uninstalling and then reinstalling Alienware with a reboot between them. While it's uninstalled check out machine to see that it's working properly.

In my opinion apart from the possibility that some spying might occur my Windows 10 experience so far has been enjoyable. I am in particular impressed with the fact that 8, 8.1 was more touch screen inclined but that was fixed in 10

uTorrent? That ad infested program. Qbittorrent works great. See no reason why uT will not too.

You can Google how to turn the ads off. You set like 6 settings from true to false in utorrent and then no more ads!

Tried it, doesn't solve the problem, but thanks anyway.

Hi, are you still experiencing the shutdown issue?
I think I found another fix but need you to test it on your side as you seem to be the only other person that is experiencing this problem on the forum.

I will be testing the shutdown fix during the course of the week and it would help if another member tried it as well.

Proposed Fix: Go into your BIOS and disable secure boot.

Yes, still experiencing the issue. Think I'll be reinstalling pretty soon, it's getting too annoying.

I'll try the bios setting, thanks.
I'll be installing soon as well but can you test before you install please?

It was awesome. Until windows 10 decided that my Nvida GPU and it's drivers no longer exist and are incompatible.
