Very nice bikes those TT600's.

I miss my XT550. I still regret writing the poor thing off :(

The SR500 was a cafe racer type bike wasn't it? Buddy of mine had a SR400 that he wanted to build up but he couldn't find a CDI. They were apparently notorious for killing their own CDI units

Not much difference between a SR400 and 500 basically the stroke is different , the SR400 was still being made in Japan up to last year .
We have not seen the SR400s here for many years but the rest of the world have had them .

Hi All, super new here, but been looking around for any advice on motorcycle insurance.

Most I've found is that there is a very big divide between going broker or direct... And most people were offering contact details for brokers up North (i'm in CT)

I recently bought a 2011 Aprilia RSV4 APRC and need to get insurance for financing... Went onto hippo and the best quote I received was R2k+!! Nearly Sh#@t myself..!

All help will be greatly appreciated!

Well, all my stuff is with Santam and because household, cars and bikes are all under one policy I get a better rate.

R30k 125cc bike is insured for R160pm I think.

Try [email protected]. This is who RAD Moto recommended to me. Paying R750 for KTM 1050 and a Honda 250. Their excess is quite high though...

That's the general rule of insurance though: the higher the excess, the lower the premiums. That's why some of these insurance companies (like Budget) advertise such low competitive premums but if you read the fine print the excess is higher than most can afford.

Well the rules of going direct as well.

Never had an excess of more than R2500 here except in total loss percentage of 5% of course.

Saw this and 2 things came to mind

1) my bike is a pu$$y Magnet
2) fanie can take lessons from this

My dad told me BMW is adding TFT screens as an option to replace the instrument cluster and I was all :D:D:D

Then I looked at it and gosh it's stupid. If you are in any of the submenus that menu takes over most of the screen, meaning you lose the tachometer. I quite like riding with my tyre pressure screen active almost all the time (especially off road), but gosh I don't need to look at a picture of the bike the whole time  It does interface with your phone, and can do GPS functions etc, but still

my KTM has a favourites menu that I set up myself - presently have it displaying:
Tyre pressure Front and Rear
Distance since last tank fill
Remaining Distance till empty
Average consumption
