Cayenne has the CBR300R, demos, on special for R39000.

Anyone had or owns a GW250 Inazuma? Is it any good? I'm in the market for a new bike, my old one is giving me problems.

Those CBR300's are great machines. If you can afford one, I'd say go for it.

The Suzuki is also good, not as fast or powerful as the Honda, but will be at a lower price point. Has a more "cruiser" feel to it. Both are very good bikes, my choice would be the Honda...

If I have decided to buy a bike privately, what do I and the owner need to do? I know we need to complete the change of ownership form. Anything else I have to look for?

I'm hoping you bright chaps can help me diagnose an issue on my bike (BMW R1200GSA)

Vibrations throughout the rev range (gets less at speed), I can feel it through the seat, handlebars, everywhere. At idle the top of my screen moves 5-10mm
Also feels like the engine stutters slightly every few moments at idle. Slight loss of power for that split second (I sometimes feel it if maintaining constant speed in 2nd or 3rd) but otherwise pulls fine.

Spark plug? Throttle body sync? Anything else I should look for? The dealership said a bad coil is also possible

Well... checking/replacing spark plugs is super easy, probably best to start there?

Looks like it was a combination of worn secondary spark plugs and throttle sync. The spark plugs are meant to have 1mm clearance, and it was around 1.4mm and had significant carbon build up. So it actually pinged once in a while as well. But all sorted now... I think :p I'm overly critical of everything now but it does feel like the surging is gone for the most part

Nice, saved yourself some bucks at the shop too!

Actually went to the dealer - I was there for around 90min and only got charged 20min labour since my service was so recent. Basically all the fault finding was free. To be fair, they don't typically check the spark plugs at the mileage I'm at and the symptoms on the bike were subtle.

So, I was driving on a 100 Km/h road he other day, going around 130 Km/h (traffic in the fast lane is typically ~120 Km/h on that particular stretch), and I was passed by a dude on a bike going, it must have been at least, 170/180 or so...

As a new rider, I'm curious about the general thoughts on speed limits, etc... It's such a temptation to go a bit faster than you should, and somehow it seems like a lesser violation of the law on the bike, as compared to a car, although it's obviously the same thing in practice.

Thoughts?

Highways and open roads I'll do 130 max unless there are no cars in sight, in which case I'll do 130 :p I don't think I get the same thrill as others from going fast in a straight line.

The way I see it is we already save so much time in traffic that exceeding the limit is not necessary

There are arguments that going faster than the general traffic is safer for a motorcyclist, up to a point of course. It's got to do with risk vs reward. It's 'easier' to get away with speeding on a bike, especially with most speed cameras being front-facing. Can't be chased thru traffic, much faster than police cars etc.

As for me - my bike can break the speed limit in 1st gear. Makes it really difficult to stay behind slow moving cars.

Having said that - I try to keep my speeding "safe". Keep the stupid speeds to no traffic and good visibility. Youtube bike crash compilations (which I do regularly, good for the reminder) and you will see majority of the accidents are from the biker being an idiot. If you choose to break the law, then at least try and only kill yourself and not bystanders.

OK, that's pretty cool of them. I have never owned a Bimmer, I always imagined that their fancy dealerships are very costly.

I've always enjoyed going thru twisties more than maximum speed down a straight road. With my tiny windscreen, going over 160 is no longer comfortable. So even tho the bike can do over 200 easily, I hardly ever go that fast. It's just not fun. If the road is open and clear I'll push it, otherwise - nah - just take it easy.

But....giving the right wrist a twist is soooooo addictive. :)

Agree 100% top speed is dull, acceleration is where the glee resides.

Acceleration is grand - It's a delight cannoning ahead of traffic at a robot. However, in my case, I reckon the tiniest little car would eventually be able to catch up with me in terms of top speed, hehe.

That's what future upgrades are for ;)

Anyone know where I can buy a fender eliminator or tail tidy in Cape Town. Preferably in Southern Suburbs.
