Precisely why I’ll be eBaying a LeoVince for like R7k.
Local pricing on exhausts has always been retarded. Now it seems even more so.
Apparently the berseker pipes in SA are quite decent.

Not me. But talking about Akra. How much of a difference does the pipe make to sound and performance?
Where's FNfal ?

Yes sure.. but dude.. AMG, from the dealership ... That's not normal car ballpark in the first place.
That happened to me a couple of times, especially in the rain, one day when I'm big I'll have a bike with ABS....Managed to lock up the rear approaching a robot this morning, then pull the front brake too hard and that also locked.
Kept it upright while the bike leaned to the left, lucky in the lane split between 2 cars. Stopped inside the pedestrian crossing lines.
By then the bike was switched off, stuck in 3rd gear and me fully awake.

I found that when the back wheel locks the worst thing to do is grab the front brakes, that just makes the tail swing around.
Ya, you pay a serious premium for akropovic. That's my special price. At BMW it's 22k plus
...

Pipes on a bike are 98% for the sound. Unless you get someone who knows what they are doing to retune the bike properly there will be little to no difference, and in some cases, worse performance.
For example I had a look at the 'officially' returned RR with full pipes. Very small increase of power at top end, but worse power everywhere else. So it would make it slower unless you ride it like its on a race track all the time.
For me it was mostly the sound, and YouTube is a great research tool for that.

Iv seen some of them, pretty informative. There are a few youtube videos of comparisons of a test bike driver locking the breaks on a skid pad to simulate a wet road. ABS vs non-ABS there is no contest, after seeing that video I will never consider a bike with out ABS.
Ja...erm no.
I'm not trusting my rather expensive German engineered motorcycle to a bunch of backyard mechanic hacks that universally use the same boxes across most bikes.
Anyone who claims their stuff is "decent" have absolutely zero clue about fueling of bikes and cars.

But since I'm a new rider (7 months in the saddle) I made the decision to cut my teeth on bikes that are pure, to get to grips with the essence and feeling of a motorcycle. When I'm experienced and feel that iv earned my stripes I'll upgrade slowly.
I don't want to be the guy who jumps into a 2018 audi RS3 presses launch control and puts his foot flat while the DSG changes gears and then calls himself a racer.
Similarly I did not want to learn on a bike with every ride assist feature in the catalogue and then call myself a biker. That's just me.

Can you switch off that slipper clutch or quickshifter or electronic suspension?Haha! Fair enough. Didn't think about it in those terms.
Yeah. As a new rider - that sold his car as part of the process. I'd rather have the aids - live to learn not to do that again. Instead of standing at the pearly gates going:"Squeeze, don't grab... That's what that means."
I'm fully able to switch off every piece of assistance I get, when in controlled circumstances and I want to learn, but during the daily commute, between other cars and bikers and taxis and pedestrians and not being fully awake cause the dogs were barking - I'll take every rider aid I get to up my chances of seeing my destination.
Respect to doing it your way. That's just me.![]()

Gravel is actually where I first slid the back wheel, I often go offroad during the commute home. now I slide the back for fun (dirt roads only), works especially well to go around corners on a dirt road.I would argue that if you are new its even more important to get ABS for the road. If you want to learn what it means to ride a naked bike then take the same ABS enabled bike to the bush and turn off the ABS there.
