Is it both Cape Town and JHB branch? I'm sure there will be some stock clearance specials.

From the wilddog forum it seems to be both. Someone posted there that someone bought a brand new CBR, paid and was waiting for a service to be finalized, now they're stuck without a bike.

I bought my GSX-R from them back in 2010.
To be honest, I'm not sure I would buy from them again anyway. I distinctly remember thinking that they were expensive AF. Not sure if that is/was still the case.

I went past the kayalami branch after work, they were closed and some guys outside said the company is being liquidated. The stock will probably be sold at auction.

Hello fellow bikers, after many years out of the game i want to get back into the game, but this time im looking at sports tourers, i dont like most of the sports tourer styling but there is one i fell in love with and thats the latest itirations of the vfr800f honda.

could someone tell me when they stopped selling these? seems like 2015, and does anybody know where there is for sale? cant seem to find anywhere on the internet available.

As far as I understand they have been liquidated. Thursday last week was their last working day. Apparently they will open the doors for peeps to come and get their bikes that are still there. But they are arranging security first (I am sure a lot of guys want to moer them)

I think in other markets they still exist today still but in SA they were replace by the VFR1200 in 2010 or just before.

So they are pretty old bikes now going by those standards and I don't think they were huge sellers even back then so probably why you can't find many.

Don't think we ever saw the model from your picture and the last ones here with the more angular V-TEC branded models.

We did get the hybrid Cross Touring thing briefly that can easily be confused with the NC and doesn't have the dual headlight setup.

after some digging it turns out the last year model vfr800 we got was 2016 still and low and behold i managed to find a low milage (5000km) 2015 one on junkmail. unfortunately though i can only go look at the bike in a months time, the owner is out of town till then. but shes a beaut and in the red colour too! price is a bit high at 110 though... or am i just out of touch with bike prices these days?

Probably just out of touch with bike prices although it does seem optimistic.

I personally wouldn’t buy a bike that was that hard to find.

i get what you say, the resale would probably be horrible, but then again ive never driven vehicles for their resale value. im a petrolhead and only care about the joy of driving/riding, if you have to think about vehicles out of a money perspective then they are all shams, especially the crooks that want to tell you how little your vehicle is worth.

ill still try and bargain for it a little bit though, a nice discount can always pay for a nice slip on can.

another thing is most other sports tourers out there currently has atrocious styling to me except for the vfr800, kind of reminds me of the old triumph sprint st 1050, love that sort of sports tourer shape.

There is always my R1200RS but probably going to cost a bit more than the Honda.

Then again bought mine for a bargain but that was perfect timing before the market went nuts.

im not an adventure bike fan much sorry BUT i sent you a PM, might have a friend that wants to buy it

Now the PM makes sense in it’s confusion.

Didn’t say GS I said RS two very different bikes. Google it and you’ll understand.

Also I’m not selling, I was recommending it as an often overlooked Sports Tourer option.

BMW make many bikes other than the GS often with more features for less money than the competition.

I need to get some new indicators for my Triumph tiger 800. The plastic has become brittle and vibration has caused the "stems" to snap. Any suggestions?

Why not upgrade to the OEM LED units?

Otherwise I would probably just hit Aliexpress or Banggood for some alternatives.

Have any of you had serious encounters with flying rubbish?

I always dodged flying bags, so never took it seriously. On my last commute, I felt safer not swerving... so a bag flew into my front wheel. I thought it would do nothing, but it actually caused quite a strong loss in power - probably front brakes binding? Once acceleration was back to normal - my front brake was completely gone for a while - guessing some kind of adjustment had to kick in after a pulling the lever a few times.

As in plastic shopping bags? Wow I would have not expected plastic bags to have that effect!

Once I was behind a bakkie at a good following distance when a 5L paint tin somehow came flying out of the bin. I couldn't swerve as I was on a two lane bridge with a car next to me and another right behind me too. The tin bounced on the road and caught me on my toe. Fortunately I was using a thick boot so no harm to my foot. The guy drove on like nothing happened and I was caught by surprise so I was just happy that was all that happened.

Nice spirit adventure jacket :) I have the same.

Assuming it's you in your profile pic.
