They were 2 for R500 (@KingMikel has the other). battery last the trip to the office and then some. Supports up to a 32GB micro SD which gives me about 2.5 hours recording. no fancy bells and whistles, but I have no intention of becoming a Vlogger anytime soon

Jeez that’s a bargain and the quality is just fine for your purposes.

Makes the GoPros seems REALLY expensive.

Any experience with Sena devices and ear plugs?
Can't speak for Sena, but I have a Spirit bluetooth helmet-kit, principle is basically the same. I currently use nonoise earplugs and can hear music very well, wind noise is vastly reduced but I can still hear road sounds, like hooters, engines etc. I don't take phone calls when riding so can't speak for that. So I suggest you get a cheapie foam pair from Builders to try out and if you don't like it then you haven't wasted too much money.

To be honest though they do not live up to the hype you find in their marketing material. I used to use cheapo foam earplugs from Builders and those were lovely. No wind noise to speak of and could hear music just fine. I just hated having to keep re[lacing them (yes they are cheap but you have to make sure you always have spare ones around).

The first ride using the nonoise earplugs I really thought "damn I wasted my money," the wind noise was just too audible. But after a week of daily use I got used to it, each persons ear canal is shaped differently and I just had to figure out the best way to fit them in mine. Now I find it hard to ride without the nonoise earplugs, I can concentrate so much more with them in.

Yeah the No Noise is great for riding.

Takes the edge off without causing that underwater internalised breathing feeling.

The Chinese headset unit I have just didn’t pump quite enough volume for me in general, even worse without plugs, but believe Sena will far exceeed that.

This BMW S1000RR runs 8.7 seconds 1/4 mile - LibeRebil

Not particularly impressive. Fettled & an extended swingarm.

Good friend of mine ran mid to low 9's over 10 years ago. She was running a Hayabusa with some mild fettling done on it by Dyno by Quint, stock standard frame & swingarm.

going to go look at a VFR800 on sunday, all the reading and videos says all the right things but the final test is to see it and sit on it in real life to know if i really connect with this bike

That is always the thing.

I’ve gone to ride a number of bikes I expected to be in love with that I just hated. (VFR1200 oddly one of them).

Flip side I rode a few with little knowledge of beforehand and loved them.

Sometimes all the reading should be done after the fact.

Traditional Motor Co have just received their first shipment of FB Mondial's.

I really like the looks, a mix between a Triumph Bonnie Bobber & a Ducati rear hugger/numberplate holder.

Just think I'll be bitterly disappointed with the lack of power.

Heading to the states for a couple weeks to visit friends. Anything interesting I should pickup while I am there? :D

My helmet visor wasn't properly secured and flew off while riding.
New one cost R1200.00

In the new Mission Impossible movie, Tom Cruise ride without a helmet for a longish distance. Tears were streaming down my face until I got to the spare shop.

It’s the one reason I don’t get the American obsession to forego helmets.

Beyond safety it’s purely practical.

So while moving my bike this morning I noticed something has leaked yellow oil, so it's either brake or shock oil. So now to call BMW for a pickup service and to check October's service record to see what oil they replaced.

They would have definitely done brake fluid.

If it was an expensive one that caught you off guard they may also have done the fork. But those I would expect you to see easily that oil was leaking from the seals.

I think I need an upgrade.

Looking for something affordable that will be comfortable to drive daily to work and back (quick, quiet drive), but also be able to handle an occasional longer trip (CPT to PE, for example).

Current bike is a 2012 CBR250R.
