what are you paying currently to replace fronts and backs?

Nah I didn’t. Quote was something like R1500.

Put on SBS for R450 odd and don’t expect them to last as long but I can buy three sets for the same money.

Front are still original pads at 39,000km now and don’t expect to replace them before 50,000km.

In contrast replaced the front pads first on my Street Triple at 18,000 km. Bike weighed almost half of what this one does.

I'm a heavy user of the rear brakes and replaced mine at 32,000km.

Granted that's the OEM BMW Brembo jobs that do last longer than most.

On my Triumph I vaguely recall it was around 24,000km.

Sounds to me like you might be dragging your rear brake constantly, or they were never actually replaced.

How do you know they are on the metal? Did you in fact check them yourself?
Seems about right, ridden my bike for just over 11k km now, don't know if brakes were done prior to my ownership.
if they haven't been done before then they have done 24k km, if they have then 11k km.

In casual scenarios i use engine braking and rear brake to slow down, front to stop.
And in heavier scenarios is use about 70/30.

My brakes wear so slowly it feels like they'll never get replaced.

ah ok, and those SBS pads, how long have they lasted you thus far?

those still have a lot of meat on them

Yeah plenty, i don't expect to replace them for years.
Front and back are around the same, that pic is the rear.

i dont mean to be funny though, and i might be wrong, but why does everything look rusted? what bike is this?

Hahaha, no its not rust. bike is just filthy and been standing for a couple weeks, camera flash also makes things look a bit more golden than they are.

Its a 2013 ER6-f:

ah ok. damn i have been wanting one of those :(

Haai nee sies. Clean her up a bit!

Guys I need some confirmation or to be corrected. My daytime bulb went after around 24 hours and upon inspection the glass is completely melted on one side. Would this be due to oil from fingers or could it be something else that I’ll need to diagnose?

Awesome bike, only one thing i'd change, and thats the exhaust, no slip on, on this model. its full exhaust or nothing.

Will be doing that soon, just got all my service items so want to service her then clean.

really? i am sure have seen these with a slip on?

Yup, i'm sure, all my research says so, and no bike place has been able to get me a slipon after enthusiastically agreeing to get me one.
I have read that the prev model exhaust fits on my model, which you can then get a slipon. But that means buying a second hand 2012- model exhaust as well as a slip on.

I'm not spending 10k+ on an exhaust when i paid 55k for the bike.

have you tried stealth?

I haven't, i decided a while back to give up, and spend the money on the next bike's exhaust. though the stock exhaust is painfully quiet.

drop them an email or FB message just for interest sake
