I thought they were the exact same bike just named differently in SA.

cool, we understand each otherI was driving the speed limit. And if you see a car that likes to speed his way to 80 in a 60 zone at a robot (because fsck, he just has to reach the next set of lights first) then you don't pull in front of him.
i just can't seem to make up my mind.. i love the mt 07 but its cost is a problem, with barely any second hand option in my price range (absolute max of 70k), what do you guys think about the BMW g 650 gs??
Pm sentWhere are you and how much?
Plenty of Kawasaki ER6's in that range.
Also Honda NC750. Not pretty but very practical.
650GS is a very different bike from the MT07. Nothing wrong with it though and you won't beat BMW for customer experience.
i don't know why i never checked out the er6's, looks good and definitely in my price range, thanks for that.
He he, no worries. Good bang for buck and great fuel economy.
What are you going to be using it for? I have the duke 390. Awesome bike for commuting around town. But although it can go over 120, it's working hard at 120... Not really good for highways in my opinion.ok i like the 2012-2013 ER6F/N my buddies are saying leave the 650 and get the duke 390 at the same price New.
52kw 64nm on the kawasaki
32kw 35nm on the duke 390 2015
opinions? i know i've been on and on about this just don't want to waste money. Be brutally honest.

well it'll be a fun weekender bike to start off, but a lot of friends stay in jhb i stay in sasolburg thats a cool 100km away. later on should i switch jobs i'd use it to commute between home and jhb daily. the bike will have a tough life fulfilling business and pleasure. What are you going to be using it for? Yoh it's a tough choice really.
Personally down here in Cape Town I wouldn't touch KTM because their dealership is shocking and I don't know a single person who owns a KTM that still owns it or wishes they didn't because it's that bad.
I haven't ridden the 390 myself but have heard good things as a pure beginner bike.
As I recall you have ridden before and are getting back into the game? I would say the ER6 is still the winner there as you'll have more longevity out of it. It's a bigger bike (how tall are you? The 390 is tiny) and as you can see has more power but isn't crazy either.
I know the F used to have ABS on certain model years, but surely the N has as well now? That might be the only major decider for me if it's important to you.
Go with the er6. Can't miss same motor as the versys.
What I mean is nice and robust. Lots of torque. Cheap to run. Great dealer network.
I wouldn't 390 from Sasolburg to Jo'burg.
