possibly, initially, but like anything, after half an hour it's all good.. It's really nice to not have to think about, or worry about gearing and clutching, it's simply twist and go. It still requires counter steering to corner hard, and it still leans as much as possible until you start dragging the center stand legs.. lol.. Its good fun, and really comfortable. Just takes away the heavy over-concentration needed during peak hour commuting. Now I just need to keep my eyes scanning the traffic and being patient with car drivers..

I enjoyed my weekend rides and brekkie runs to franchoek with a few mates back in the day, but, honestly speaking, if I had 150 K new and | went bike shopping, I'd buy the same scoot again and again.. It just ticks all my boxes these days.

I simply cannot do the balance of legs in front of me.

Even sitting almost as if on a bike the rare occasion that I do ride them the weight balance is just all wrong and I couldn’t see myself living with it.

We have multiple automatic gearbox on conventional motorcycles if that’s the primary motive.

The electric motorcycle revolution will be the middle ground I hope.

Hi guys and girls.

The rainy season is starting in KZN and I need to update my rain wear. My rain-jacket (that goes over any other jacket I may be using) has vanished, as has the boot covers. I had bought it many years ago from a motorcycle shop in Durban that has since closed down.

So I found a cheapie rainsuit (jacket and pants) at Builders that I will get in the oversized version. Good enough for me since I will still use protective gear underneath.

However I can't seem to find the waterproof boot covers locally. They are available on AliExpress, but I would like to be able to try them on first. Anyone here from KZN/Durban who can point me in the right direction?

I just found the place that I had bought from before (they changed names), and they want R1400 for the whole kit including boot covers.

I had originally bought for R400 and it was low quality so not worth spending R1400 now, especially since I can buy the same crappy quality from Builders (but without boot covers) for R275 and just changed it every year.

So the search for the boot cover continues...

Get some new boots? I run the forma adventure boots, and my feet haven't been wet. Ever.

Or, a seperate thought, try cycling shops. They make booties for the cycling shoes, but I'm not sure if it'll necessarily fit. Worth a try though.

Check the classifieds I say

Sick in bed at home and I have this strange urge to be on a motorcycle right now:(

Must be the meds making me all loopy

anyone know where to find a shark d-skwal visor at a decent price, prices online are mental.

I sadly broke the one sides clip taking the visor off to clean it :(

Just stay away from any bike shops. I'm certain this is how people end up buying KTM's :)

If I buy another bike it would probably be an older R1100GS or R1150GS. I'm busy reading through this Advrider thread to see what I would be in for if I went down this route. Sometimes the research is just as fun as actually buying it :)

I'd say phone Motomate or bikerswarehouse and ask them. If you do get a price please post it here- so I know how careful I have to be when cleaning mine :)

I've recently been drawn into restoration type projects. Well, reading them. And yes, they are fascinating. I've sunk hours into it... :(

So my Shark Skwal suffered the same fate, one of the C pieces snapped when trying to remove it for cleaning.

Due to the mounting hardware the glue you use can't be "thick". Also super glue didn't work for me because when you pop it back in place the C has to bend open a little to get over the latch, this would snap the eproxy I used.

I ended up using eproxy on one side, and latching it in place before it dried and was a little malleable, then put q-bond on the other side to give it strength.
