Come to think about it, they didn't ask what the capacity of the bike that I was on. It had no stickers on it.
Yeah I'll chance it I think.

@gamer16
This would be a nice one for you, but it is a bit far. Low kilos and a good price:

This is what I think as well, I know my bike, I know its clutch brakes etc. Kawasaki ER6.I watched a few of the youtube videos and then tried riding less like a chop and more like what I have watched in the videos. I was told to hire a 250cc because it is easier, but I realised that it would be easier on the bike that I ride every day, so I went to do the test on a 1200 sportster (even the instructor in Krugersdorp looked worried). Started the test at 7:45 and was sitting in the office at 8:05 doing the paperwork
I'm in centurion, but have heard good things about both kempton and randburg. Yeah when I re-wrote my learners I was nervous as F**k, but then I aced it easily, so I should just man up and do it.@Zuner, recently done mine at Randburg and my mate done his in Kempton Park. Just get over the nerves and ask the guys have said - it is best to use a small bike as it makes the test much easier.
I think it's code A1 for up to 125cc or something and Code A for anything bigger.I haven't done motorcycle license yet, planning on getting a 125, would have been great if I could do the test on it, also didn't know there are different codes for motorcycles I thought it was just learners and full license.
In my days a 125cc was considered a big bike. The legislation (and cc sizes) got changed a few years ago.Wait a minute, I thought you have to be on something larger than 125 to do your drivers?
I think it's code A1 for up to 125cc or something and Code A for anything bigger.
Correct. When I did mine (pre-2000) it was 50cc (and below) was code1 and above 50cc was code2.I think it's code A1 for up to 125cc or something and Code A for anything bigger.

There will be other good deals. The trick is not to rush into something and buy a bike that may not be ideal or have some issues. For now it would be a good idea to scour the market, do some research and maybe find some Youtube videos to teach you about proper riding technique especially in urban trafficFark me that is a good deal I say, cheers, still have some saving to do though![]()

Be aware, that essentially amounts to fraud, and I expect will carry a harsh sentence if you are caught out.Yeah I'll chance it I think.
Practice makes perfect.
What are you doing it on?
Did they allow you to carry on with the test, Im sure it was just nerves and if you had been allowed to continue you would have aced it.
Great attitude, you will get it the next time.

Nope, sadly not. I was acing it until that point. Just had the emergency stop and the half moon turn to do.
Sorry to hear that man.
Get a light 250cc or something (if you haven't done so already)- you can rent one at most driving schools for the next test. If you're in Pretoria, I recommend Bonus Betuurskool in Waverley- although quite a few years ago, myself, my sister and mother made use of their services.
Hmmm how does the e stop work? certain distance to stop in?
Stop as quickly as possible without locking up brakes or losing control.Hmmm how does the e stop work? certain distance to stop in?
Oh, that's a new one. (I'm still thinking in terms of the old drivers licence test). So you ride towards a set of three lights. At a certain point, one of them will come on. The middle light is stop immediately. The left light means you swerve left and then stop, and the same for the right. You don't know which light is going to come on and you have to do it twice I think...
