Nashua Mobile = Physical Assault

yeah, it's BS, MD should make something like this priority one. He physically doesn't need to go get the video himself, there must be a chain of authority that can get things in motion but the fact it's not even been looked at yet, just shows the lack of customer commitment stemming from the top. If the top guy doesn't give a rats ass, why would any of the employees/franchisees. Run as far away from Nashua Mobile as you can.

Wow, I'm late reading this thread. really sorry Alien12, hope you get your justice...

I'm definitely not gonna sign up with NM after reading some of the comments here, even if that means paying more through Vodacom Direct!

i just am also cancelling my contract with them. This is poor.

As bad as the situation is, I don't think it's right at all to post his email address on a forum where all manner of spambots hang out...

Yeah, he wasn't the first though... check this out... it's incredible that every reply to this info article is a whinge about pathetic service from NM... serial offenders it seems:

Hi, I am trying to get into contact with a Responsible Person at Nashua Mobile, to try and resolve a problem on a Nashua Mobile contract but there is just no customer service. It is a faceless setup, with standard answers and empty promises. Who do I speak to can you put me in contact with Chris Scoble.
Regards
Jacques Wentzel

They are absolutely useless. Looking at the way they structure their e-mail addresses try [email protected]. If their is another Chris with a surame that begins with “S” they may get the message that there are problems when they recieve a barage of complaint mail.

nashua mboile have absolutly bad service. they lead me to agree to pay an extra R4 so they can block mty calls when Iv reached my limit. nobody expained to me that this service does not block your account immedialy…I was sitting comfortably using it thinking that I would be blocked as soon as I reach my limit…to my absolute horror,I have a bill of R5500 now. I think that its fraudulent to lead someone to believe something and not to explain to them exactly what they are getting into!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Mr Selwyn Smith (cc Chris Scoble)
Please cancel my contract since it is clear you have no intentions of answering my specific questions. You told me that you were out of stock, yet you have not told me why that news is relevant to my situation i.e. you have not informed me of what happened to my phone.
Is my phone dead? If so, what caused its early demise? Furthermore, why did Vodacom refuse to assist me with my phone, claiming the phone is not registered with them? Why has no one contacted me to inform me of what is happening with the phone? I have been without the phone for 1/24 (or 4%) of the time of my contract. Subsidising your company by more than 4% is not something I can afford to do. I extended my contract not because of your service, rather because I wanted that phone badly. I was willing to sacrifice on my principles (of never wanting to ever deal with you) because I wanted that phone. Yet, now I find myself in a situation where I had the phone for 5 of the last 9 weeks I am responsible for it.
This comes on the heals of your company failing to assist me on my recent trip to China where I ended up on charges of over R5500 on data alone, when all I did was to check my emails when I did not have access to the hotel provided networks. Protecting your customers against extra-ordinary charges does not seem to work in your environment

You are now in breach of contract and have absolutely no intention of having you as my service provider.

Good Day

This is now the 21st of September and I am still waiting for my Phone and connection to the Vodacom network.

The first time that I set foot in the Nashua Mobile shop was 21st of August 2009. I told them what I wanted, got the paper work, filled it in.. and every thing was done. I asked if they were sure as I was changing my contract from MTN to Vodacom and got the reply: Yes sir, it will take max 2 - 3 days. I went there again the following Monday and asked again, do you have every thing you need from me because I am leaving town. again, yes sir. The next day they called me saying that they need a port change paper or something and asked if they can email it so that I can sign it, and then send it back. I did.. twice to be exact.. I called them that Thursday (27th) to ask when the phone will be there and was assured that it would be there the next Monday (31st). Well this goes on and on. Never got the phone that Monday. Still no Phone… only empty promises. They have told me things like: The Satellites have not registered my number, the phone is being sent by the courier but has not yet delivered, their is no stock on my phone. the list goes on. I am fed up.

UPDATE: Guys still no word from NM, they are actually pathetic, last time I have heard from someone was Wednesday afternoon, after that I have had to email to try get some answers coming through, once again the same service we have all come to expect from NM, empty promises and false hope.
I personally went to the glen management and spoke to the security officer, who told me that due to this being a new section to the Glen, there is conveniently no security cameras and footage there, meaning I don't have any physical proof of the incident. I find this very hard to believe that there is no security cameras, I think money can make a lot of things seem "not to exist".

One piece of advice, stay away from Nashua Mobile, as far away as you can.

Hey man,

As long as you have the witnesses you should still try to sue!

Lame.

I would still press charges. Is it a bald guy?

Sad story this. Seems I am very fortunate to only ever have had good service from Nashua Mobile (the Brooklyn branch anyways).

i've been following this thread with considerable interest over the last few days.

the solution is really simple...

1) dont expect help from the centre management. the store pays them stacks of cash every month in levies and rental and they have no interest in helping you. a new section with no camera's? yeah right... surveillance, security and all those knick knacks are done in the final phase of construction, before they open the section... they need it done otherwise they'd invalidate their insurance agreements...

2)No way nashua mobile is gonna choose helping you over helping their franchisee who pays them thousands of rand royalties and even more in commission by enslaving the general public onto their service. sure, they'll contact you. but really kiss your ass? no way. they gonna do what simba or lays or willards will do... you find a human finger in your packet chips... they'll just give you a new packet, and a half ass apology template from their customer service dept...

3) i think you were an idiot to comment to another customer. the boss would really get annoyed and the only way you could've ticked him off faster is if you had a threesome with his wife and mother.
these franchisees make big money. no way he was gonna have you interfere in that...
i would've kicked your ass myself if it was my store. why di'dnt you just wait the half hour out?

and here's the caramel filled centre in my 5 cents...

4) go to the police station that serves the area where the assault happened. get a j88 form. go to the nearest hospaital and get the dr there to examine you and fill the form out.(it helps if u're bruised or have visible injuries, photograph them.) then go back to police station and lay an assault case. badger the investigator till they pay him a visit. if u lucky they'll lock him up for the night... that 18 yr old chic did it to oscar pistorius so it aint rocket science...

4) get a lawyer and open a civil case against him. sue for bodily harm, libel, grief and psychological damage, warra warra warra

and remember young jedi paduan, this is how business is done in south africa. you slave away, give them your valueless cash for an inferior product with even worse service, then you bend over and smile while they stick it....

hooray

Wow this is shocking! My contract is with NM as well... Scary stuff.
You should still lay a charge I reckon. What you say to another customer is no-one else's business, even the store owner.

Don't let it slide, too many people in SA get away with far too much crap cos people just let it go

Every day I get closer to a Nashua Mobile less existence, I feel better :)

I don't understand why people even use Nashua Mobile. I had to get two new cellphone contracts recently (for my wife and myself) and out of curiosity I visited a NM store. Nashua Mobile had the absolute worst deals when compared to the Vodacom, MTN, Cell C and the various resellers. They were also the least interested in assisting me during my time in the store.

I remember my dad signed a two year contract with them years ago and got out as soon as possible. In his defence, that was his first cellphone he didn't know any better.

Sorry for the long wait on the reply to this, work has been insane, haven't had time for anything.

I received a phone call from the MD earlier this week, after a good wait from the last call, to be told the same thing I heard when I went to the glen management, that he was not able to get any security footage of the incident. He said he had spoken to the witness and to the client inside the store at the time, with no much detail on that he asked me what I would like to come out of this? Firstly a apology from Francious would be great and nothing more to do with Nashua Mobile.

He said he would get an apology from Francious right away which I am still waiting for (not that I am going to get it anyways). My contract will be ending in February and will be cancelling it as soon as possible. Edwin the MD promised me that Nashua Mobile would do there utmost to keep me part of the Nashua Mobile company.

The conclusion of the phone call was Edwin basically saying to me there is not much he can do for me without the video footage. He has confirmed that Francious will be getting a warning and probably nothing else will come from it. Personally I feel another bad attempt at customer service from Nashua Mobile. Oh and according to Francious, I was swearing in the Nashua Mobile The Glen store, and swore at him multiple times before he had to throw me out. Wow I never knew trying to pay your account was concidered swearing at someone!!!

Any customers I can lure away from the Nashua Mobile The Glen will be a bonus in my respects to this whole situation.

I think he meant money. An apology is just a bonus.

I just want to say kudos for your attitude - I say do what you feel is the right thing in the circumstances, don't take anyone else's advice. I say the more clients lured from NM in general, the better. If I had my way, I would ask for a public apology on this forum where most of their clients and potential clients visit. Perhaps even an apology on their website - to make them sweat. If nothing forthcoming, then perhaps the local newspaper can investigate.

But either way - Kudos for not going the 'I want money' route - that is a fail of epic proportions IMO - justice can't be bought.

IMO you should scan the apology if you get it (ask for it in writing), and post it here on this forum.
Thanks for posting in the first place - helped me make up my mind with NM!
