I am in shock at the treatment I received yesterday (10 November 2009) at a Nashua Mobile branch, namely The Glen, between the store “Owner” and myself. I am still currently waiting on replies from the company.
After struggling to resolve a problem with my account via the call center on two separate occasions, I decided try going to the nearest Nashua store namely The Glen to see if they would be able to help me sort out the now overdue account and have it re-activated.
One of the store employees’s told me that they could not assist me as the systems were down, but as I need my phone for business I further inquired if there was anything else that could be done. According to the store owner the best thing that could be done for me, was to wait 30 minutes while he finishes his stock take, and then only can he give a payment reference which I could give to the call center to re-activated my account. This to me was unacceptable as the whole reason for visiting the store was to avoid the call centre which has failed to assist me before. So I turned away and in my moment of everything I commented to another customer in the store, "Do not come to Nashua mobile service as it is disgusting".
Then owner of the store then grabbed me by the arm and forcibly dragged me out of the store and threw me against a wall, where I was confronted face to face with the owner shouting directly in my face. Still holding me against my will, I kindly asked the owner to please “get out of my face and let me go”, but he continued to threaten me and suggest he would take me to an alley and “beat me up”. I again told him to please get out of my face, and he continued to hold me against the wall and to assault me. Thankfully a witness to the incident managed to distract the owner long enough for me to get away.
I personally believe that I should not support an organisation that employs intimidation (and mobster like) tactics, like that used but this particular store. I wonder how many customers have had to sign contracts under duress.
I have since contacted The Glen shopping center management and acquired that the owner is Francois Van der Merwe.
I currently have a MTN business contract, and a 1GB 3G contract with them, which I will cancelling as soon as possible.
Has any one else dealt with any one from this specific Nashua Mobile at the Glen?
