This is so irritating! You know you have a problem on your network if your downtime start becoming more than your uptime. I don't give a cr*p what it costs you Telkom fix the damn problem. Upgrade your equipment and stop using this cheap **** that you bought from overseas. There is a reason that they flogged this equipment, learn from them you bunch of idiots!

I mean 2-3 links break every month at least. There is a serious problem with their network and we are suffering for it. We pay more than most other countries for a network that's not even close to good. This is TOTAL BS

Sorry just had to vent a little. Having work to do while the network is so slow sucks!

Yes I agree The service that we get for the price we pay is crap, I have to wait for about 5 minutes for a single page to load. Is this problem country wide or only in certain areas. I'm in Klerksdorp, NW and the speed here is crap since about 19:20 (we I got home).

Centurion, mine and a buddy's in Lyttleton are extremely slow. Both Telkom ISPs. Other buddy on MWEB (hate!) is fine.

I also tried calling but I put the phone down as I would have to wait for 20 minutes according to the automated answering system

Our ADSL was down for most of the afternoon but came up around 4pm. Our ISP said that Telkom had reported a major cable problem that was being fixed in stages.

Funny. There was a major "cable" problem in Centurion too yesterday. My DSL was dead (logging in fine, but browsing is impossible) last night after that majore "cable" repair was completed. I know because I asked the Telkom guys with wires in their hands near my house. "New cable sir" was their reply. People in the neighbourhood complained of noise on their lines and Telkom came ripping up cables. I saw trouble coming right then. Now my line is serious buggered. On the other hand other folks around the country are having trouble, so perhaps it is just coinsidence. Either way if I hear Telkom fixing people's lines in my area I know my line will **** out. Either because they break it or murphy's law will make something break on the national grid... :D

Moving down from Johannesburg

I waited 46 minutes on the helpline , then the reply was that there
are aware that Telkom has a problem in Johannesburg with the network
,told him I 'm in Pta so he replied that the network problem has now
moved to Pta. My speed avg on my netmeter 0.2 KB down 0.1 KB up
websites like telkom or myadsl more then 5 minutes but only half.
So this morning it seems to be moving back again Ha Ha since speed
on 512 line is 60 KB/s lets wait and see the next moves.

cape town, 712/715 adsl down since 21:00 yesterday. help desk advises that telkom will "begin investigation" at 08:00 this morning when the people arrive for work. I guess this is the best effort service that telkom can provide. what a crock of ****!

I'm in edenglen and I can't browse the web... if I ping the dns server some packets get dropped :( Been like this since I got back from rage on Sunday night

Friend of mine is in Edenvale and he's having the same issue. Is there a call logged that I can use as reference when I phone?

wouldnt even dialup past the "connecting..." part.
