A guy came to me a few days ago from NEC, he says they contracted by Telkom to move over lines from analogue to fibre and @ a cost of R900 p/month he can move me over to fibre.
They will install a new phone system (PABX) and I will be moved over to pure per second billing and not the normal per minute billing. (he claims that will save me about 40% monthly and my adsl will be on fibre).

Anyone knows anything about this?

Sounds like a scam... contact Telkom and inquire.

Invite him in, lock your doors and proceed to bliksem him for trying to scam you.

yeah but I checked NEC on the net and they are a international telecoms company, he had all the necessary proof (uniform, business cards etc) my query is if anyone is using this - I really can't see how this can be a scam besides what does he gain if I pay him R900.00 for one month and find it's not upto scratch -( I could cancel)

Before you sign any contract take it to your lawyer/attorney to check it first and then to explain the real facts to you.

So this is for your business ??
What type of premises are you situated in ??
If it is high density business or residential this could be true
I know they feed many business buildings with fiber
