Welcome to the club, I was between contracts for a while myself, and it has picked up again but to impress & retain the scarce few piecemeal jobs I scrounged, I worked evenings and sometimes through the night.
It must've worked 'cos I am back to full-time contracted, but.. now my current client expects the same performance I showed during the panic, and I'm simply not up to it anymore.
I worked right through lockdown last year, busiest time for many clients, and I lock-downed by myself so I became a bit bos near the end, so I seriously need a break.
But then such is life, I'll grab a psychedelic long weekend soon & fully let the hair down, then if I return from the other side it's back to the grindstone I suppose..
The last holiday I had, I was 16.
I'm 37.
My break is long overdue.

Nah, what I meant was there's some meetup.com groups for example that meet on zoom and discuss topics of interest. Actually talking to other humans with your voice.

Probably even worse. I can only imagine the type of people on places like that.

An online meetup group dedicated so history, philosophy, photography etc. What kind of people are you imagining on places like that? They like the most normal places to meet and chat with people.

If you are working till 2am, why don't you get an income?

That is stupid.

I'm attempting to setup a side-hustle. For the last year.
Limited resources available and fkups occur.
My mind is tired. I'm making mistakes. I'm honest. If I didn't make mistakes. Things would be better.

What are you working such long hours on without income, and for which company?

Edit: Saw your side-hustle comment...

a) That is your choice?
b) Is it by any chance in conflict of interest with your day job?
c) Are you looking for other work if your employer is treating you like crap, not paying enough?

IT is one field where there is a lot of work at the moment.

It's just random online chats with open rooms gives me creeper vibes.

a) A choice out of necessity. I live free and eat free. I don't get paid for work I do.,
b) No conflict of interest, except the current period where I don't contribute in work, due to the tiredness.
c) Have looked for other work, in the Work from Home segment. I can't give my family a middle-finger and turn back on my promise to work with and for them. Not after everything they've done for me.

Your family only took you in because of a promise that you would work for them? You are not living and eating for free if that is the case.

The point of having a family looking out for each other is that you can take a longer view of a situation. You being gainfully employed would help your family in the longer run as if they needed help, you would be there for them.

No. They didn't take me in because of that promise. It was discussed between us briefly that I would be working for them. The main reason is due to my employment issue and unlivable expenses. If I stayed there, I wouldn't be able to survive. I couldn't even cover rent.

What work is your family needing you to do that requires you to stay up till 2am working?

Or are you just a night owl that prefers working later at night when there's no distractions?
