Neoconnect prime, Kenilworth. I complained here earlier about speeds below 20kb/s. Well, yesterday I walked around my flat (inside and outside) with my laptop and the phone, downloading 4 files with Getright in order to test speed. While the phone showed perfect reception everywhere, I discovered that I never fall below 100kb/s while the phone hangs out of the kitchen window; it's usually roundabout 160kb/s. I went to a friend's house and did the same for her, and she is up by just as much. So I'll have to get an outside antenna and place it carefully. Why don't they tell us that the phones basically always show perfect reception even when it's reception is crap? I suspect they can save the company with that bit of information, since most people attribute the appalling speeds to the Neotel network while it is actually the placement of the device. Now I'm one of Neotel's greatest fans.
