Neotel Speed Tests

For the past 2 weeks or so, my download speeds have been really good.
Downloads are usually over 1mb/sec. Torrents have been flying at 200 KB/sec (2mb/sec)!!

This is great! I hope it lasts...
 
@Ushir - as per sent via e-mail to me today

"Thank you for your e-mail dated 14 July 2009.

We have yet to received confirmed dates regarding the firmware upgrade release, however as the last update last week stated that this should take 2 weeks to rectify these may be available as of next week, however this has not yet been confirmed.

It would be advisable to contact our Technical Support on 0800 333 636 options 3 and 2 as they may have the latest information regarding this matter.

Please could I ask everyone posting speedtest results to include the DL speed, UL speed, Server, Type of connection, Time and Latency!

Or even easier, just post the screenshot that speedtest.net provides. Im compiling the results and unfortunately when all the info is not present i have to exclude the results! U can check out the results ive compiled thus far in the other thread i created.
 
Not great, but decent

Last Result:
Download Speed: 1023 kbps (127.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 55 kbps (6.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

And i got my neotel package as well. It's not brilliant, but it's stable and beats both my Vodacom+MTN connections i have (which tended to hop between EDGE and 3G mostly). My coverage is generally the issue it seems.



PS: I'm on the Neoflex Data package.
 
I must say ive never been happier with neotel as ive been in the last week. Its been flying! Its such a pleasure - constantly getting 2.4mbps!
 
Well I am totally bummed I have this Neotel Connection and it seems to be getting slower and slower.

Yesterday they switched on the new Seacom Cable So I expected to be quicker and I went even slower.

Is that speed constant?

I live in fourways / Lonehill so would think the speed will be good????
 
Yes - during the day it gets slightly slower to about 1.5mbps, late at night and early in the morning i get 2.4 pretty much constantly. I spent an entire day monitoring the stats on my connection and finding a spot with the best EC/IO and RSSI. Im also using an external omni antenna and amplifier - without it i couldnt even connect.

But this makes me wonder

Down: 2668 Kbps
That shouldn't be possible on Prime?
