My only problem with Netflix on PS3 is that the PS3 is mostly used by the kids and Netflix method of parental control is clunky at best.

Quick Question:

Can I setup a new PS3 player profile and set it up with a US PS3 accounts?
I want to setup 1 account for Games (My PS+ Account) and 1 account for streaming?

Howzit Mouks,

Absa-positively!
I've maintained my SA PSN account in tact with all of my trophies, and setup a new US PSN account purely for being able to download the Netflix and Hulu+ apps.
Once you've downloaded and installed the apps, you can even switch back to your SA PSN account, and it will still work - guaranteed!

I honestly haven't had any experience with the parental control.
A few months ago though they did introduce the profiles, which might make it easier, but I'm really not even a novice on the subject. Sorry bro.

Anyone having issues with Netflix? Mine staggers of late and is always streaming on the lowest resolution (when it isnt jerking). My speed tests show I have good throughput. I have a 10M Telkom Uncapped Account. I know they're doing upgrades in my area (ADSL upgrades) but seeing as my speeds are ok, I'm confused as to why Netflix is still a problem.Help*

Great thread, thanks for starting Shreez. I followed all steps and have a very different problem. When I access channels available on my TV Services/Channels , there is no Netflix. Hulu+ is there with others but not Netflix. Anyone else experience this and how can I get Netflix

Hey NWI,

Thanks for the kind words! :)
With regard to your problem though, (and forgive me if this sounds daft, but the best of us sometimes forget) please ensure that you've logged into PSN using your new US account. It has to appear in the list. It will be a bright red icon.

This is the only way to get Netflix downloaded and installed that I am aware of.
You should also see Crackle, a Verizon app, as well as an Amazon app.
Do you see any of these?

Hey Speed...

It's most probably the way that traffic is being treated on the network.
Because ISPs in SA don't "support" Netflix due the DNS tomfoolery involved, traffic is not prioritized properly and is treated as a best effort service.
This results in a fairly mixed bag of streaming quality, depending on how your ISP's network is performing.
I'm on a 10Mb Afrihost account and although my downloads fly, streaming is another case entirely.
Sorry dude.

Now that's bizarre... I've never come across that before - a PS3 hatin' on Netflix.

Hi Grumpy,

It's a great pleasure.
Greetings shreez.

Thanks for the nice guide. I just want to verify that both Netflix and Hulu still work with a SA Credit Card if you use the USA zip? :)

My Standard bank one worked fine. But there are random cases of it not working though. In which case you need a US paypal account or use Entropay.

Howzit Gents.

Correct, SA cards should work. I've done it with my FNB card with no issues.
And Chevron is correct, their might be a chance that it might not work.

However, I really do not recommend you open up an Entropay account. They require that you deposit a minimum of $20 of which they take an "Admin" fee of $4 or $5.
When my attempt to use this method failed and I wanted to close my account, they then charged me a further $6 to close the account. This is a rip off and I strongly recommend against it.

For all intensive purposes though, I'm sure your SA card will work.
Let me know how it goes. Good luck!

Just one last question: Should I use my FNB card, must I first activate Verified by Visa or can I use it without this?
