Netflix and Hulu+: A PS3 Setup Guide

The PS3 bluray remote is no longer supported by the Hulu PS3 app (as of yesterday's update). You now have to use the PS3 controller which is seriously not cool.

Might be time to goa WD Live...

Wait a few days for a fix. Btw, Roku3 is infinitely superior to WDlive for Hulu+/Netflix viewing

I've also noticed that quality settings have been removed from the PS3 app and I've been experiencing buffering on my 10mbit line for the first time in months.

Anyway, just orders a Roku 3 (should arrive in a few weeks); thanks for the tip!

Got Unotelly working - very easy.
Couldn't get Netflix working even with entering a US Zip code - was using the normal sign up screen on the net.
Was using a Capitec card.

Did you make sure to log into your PS3 using your US PSN account?
I'm not sure if this might make a difference, but it shouldn't.

Perhaps try deleting Netflix and re-installing. I had a situation a few weeks ago where Netflix prompted me to login and did not register when I pressed the "Login" button after entering my credentials.

Best would be to try for yourself, there's a one week free trial when you sign up. I don't mind the ads all too much.

Edit: since my upgrade to 2Mbps Hulu never buffers. *touch wood*

Hulu+ has fewer ads than free Hulu.

I prefer Netflix though because of the complete series.

Hulu+ is more than worth it imo.
But if you aren't into watching current series as they are released then Netflix is probably a better alternative.

Yup, you've answered your own question, just log back in using your SA account or where your "normal" PSN profile lives, and you're rocking again.

You might have missed this on earlier pages, but once you've signed up using the US PSN account, you can use your SA PSN account to still access Netflix/Hulu afterwards. The US PSN account is only required for sign up.

Exercise restraint, grasshopper.
Unlike with DSTV, the series will always be there waiting for you to watch it, so no hurry.
Unless it's on Hulu, lol. They sometimes don't even keep all episodes for a current season of a series.

The problem is the fact that it just keeps on playing. It never stops. If it doesn't stop, how am I suppose to stop? Haven't tried hulu yet but as I understand hulu is more up to date and Netflix has the massive catalogue?

Be careful about not obtaining the acceptance of your better half. That could land you in deep doo doo.
The crappy part is that you WILL at some point be subjected to Chick Flicks or some romantic comedy.

The up side is that you will retain fully in-tact genitalia.

My netflix is working pefrectly on my pc and ps3. I have a question though. I signed up for unotelly trail do I have to pay for unotelly also as after the trail ends ? The ps3 already got the dns settings so I dont see the need. On a side note I took out unotelly's dns settings from my pc and are using Hola plugin to stream netflix on my pc.

I was wondering the same. I have a hidemyass subscription that I use on the pc. And then I got the dns setup on the ps3. So as you stated, I got the dns settings. Are those setting going to stop working after the trial period ends?

You will need to pay for Unotelly after the trial ends. It's the best way though as it let's you change Netflix regions.

That's exactly how I thought at first. However, you will soon realize that every few days you need to update your IP address, and in order to do this you need to be logged into your account. This is what necessitates a paid subscription.
