New ADSL pricing

So what happened to the 'economies of scale" mentioned a few years ago?

So much for attracting new business with competitive pricing. Are they deliberately trying to chase away customers.

I suspect new profit margins and revenue pressures mean a quick realignment of previous economies of scale estimates…

shouldn't they rather decrease our rentals since they scored a very big 3.7 BILLLLLLLLION (not the routers) from dodging the fine-bullet?

Just another typical dissapointment from Telkom. I think the best thing to do would be for people to cancel their dsl subscriptions and change to Neotel...that way they would realise that there is something seriously wrong...

I will cancel my Telkom subscription just as soon as Neotel provides an alternative. eg Ethernet port and ability to talk and surf simultaneously

I would love to see the day when a SA company decides to keep customers rather than shareholders happy. There has to be a company out there who looks at their multi-billion profit margin, which is only available to them due to the clients, and turn around and say it is payback time for all the support and finally give a little back to keep the customer base happy.

From Telkom to Eskom to even cell providers... "things are expensive, we must charge more" and then they declare a multi-billion Rand profit taking for the year.

Done cancelled my ADSL/voice line and ISP! U'll be seeing alot less of me in days to come!

Telkom does not respond well to arguments based on common sense or logic.

Lets face it, they have not made any effort to service their customers.
Everything that they have done was directly related to their bottom line. They've given nothing back, made no sacrifices and given us nothing more than the absolute minimum.

Sounds like the government right?
Maybe they will also respond to the only thing that the government responds to?

Terrorism. (Now please don't go strap a bomb around your waist......)
I just seems like the only way to deal with these organisations.

When you have 10 problems to attend to.
Which one are you going to attend to first?
If you are working with customers, you are probably going to service the customer giving you the most trouble.

Imagine a motor service agent. They have 25 cars to service on that day. Business as usual, except for 1 customer making one hell of a racket because his/car has been damaged on site.

There may be other customers with complaints about customer service etc. But if the complaint does not cause them some sort of financial obligation they are simply going to focus or the more important issues.

With Telkom we just complain but they can ignore us because we cant affect their bottom line. We all want to use the alternative operator but.....yeah.

So how do we twist Telkom's arm?

We strike? Burn and pillage? No, we have to be clever about this.
There has to be a way to affect Telkom financially. But in a LEGAL manner please.

Please guys. Please post well motivated ideas on how we can financially affect Telkom, LEGALLY.

Ditto, just waiting for the neotel wimax option - should be here in 2020

Our broadband customers will also be pleased to hear that our submission makes provision for the monthly subscription charges for ADSL, Do Broadband and Telkom Internet to remain unchanged...

Give me your address, Godfrey, and I'll come over and give you a personal demonstration of my 'pleasure'...

Best way to cut costs on this one is to share an ADSL line with a neighbor, especially in apartment or security complexes. A router in bridged mode provides for each user to have his own ISP connection.

[broken_record]If I have broadband, I don't need a phone. I'd use VoIP. Don't give me a 'free' service I have no use for. Give.me.broadband.[/broken_record]

There is nothing better than a ADSL line, go for your 3G and Neotel wireless, wow a R10 rand increase! lets all cry now.

Get over it people.
