Well the Audi A1 does for a wee bit more money that might make up the balance cost wise.
Alfa's have them and so do Citroën as I recall.
Don't think Renault does though.
No idea on the Koreans but I suspect also just service plans, but they do surprise quite often.

I'm just impressed that VW finally throw it in for free, although as Roux said the time/mileage is a slap in the face.

I got three years/60,000km of not paying a cent for services on my 2010 Corsa. You get the same with the i20 and other cars in the segment.
So, I checked out the Fiesta ST. Must say it's an impressive car for the price, it's quick, gear changes are relatively smooth, looks a lot more 'energetic' if you will, compared to the Polo GTI. But (and a huge but), the interior is not on the same level as the Polo, and considering the majority of ones time is spent inside, it's a bit of a negative. That being said, it has all the kit and a few gimmicks that the Polo doesn't come standard with.
Oh, and it sounds really good too
I'm having a look at the Audi A1, which won't be as powerful as the other two options, but it's worth a look. The Polo does only come with a 3 year warranty. It's going to add another +- R8000 just to extend this to 5 years.

Every FIESTA ST comes with a 4yr/120 000km Comprehensive Warranty, as well as a 4yr/60 000km Service Plan.
I have had mine for a week now, best car I have owned to date.
Put's a smile on my face every time I get it
Think about it balance of economy, power and value for money.
It has also won 22 awards overseas, kind of speaks for itself:

IMO VAG interiors are incredibly monotone and boring and i don't see a quality difference between VW and Ford interior so for me the fiesta wins everytime.
Also the service plan(or lack of in VW's case)

True, VAGs are dull inside and out and if you ever do need to use that warranty VWSA had a hole hand with middle fingers for you - choose one. Their 45,000km service plan is a completely retarded idea. You will get better services elsewhere, the Fiesta is an excellent car and right now a no brainer. Normally I would recommend a Corsa but the new model is due out soon so you would effectively be buying an 8 year old car new, not worth it unless they make you a really sweet deal.
Most people I know who own VAG cars have to really cough up if they are out of maintenance/service plan.
And VW is king for charging crazy amounts for the most small things.
I once owned the old box shape polo many years back, the most problematic and expensive car to maintain.
The gear lever was very loose at one point, it needed a new plastic gromit. The part cost like R10. VW quoted me something like R6k to install it, cos apparently they had to take out the gearbox?
So I googled this, found a quick tutorial online...
What do you know I did the job in under 10 minutes.

Thanks a lot. Finally narrowing it down a bit. Currently, I've got the following options:
Audi A3 (Second hand with less than 15000KM's)
Polo 1.2 DSG (New)
Ford Fiesta (New)
Golf 1.4 (Second hand - 7000KM's)
Both of the second hand vehicles have five year warranties and maintenance plans. Are there any risks in buying second-hand? They both look as if they are in good condition, but how does one know if there was something wrong with it or if the previous owner did something which wasn't noticed, that affects the car. Don't want to buy second-hand and then realise shortly thereafter that there is something not so lekker with it. I know if it's still under warranty, it can be sent back, but if it's damaged caused by the previous owner, what do you do?
The mileage on those vehicles is relatively low, so I'm assuming they should be in decent condition?

The two low mileage second hands are both much more car than the ones LinuxMan is trying to convince you yo buy. Really don't understand the reasoning... At those demo mileages, they are basically new. Both are great cars and as you say, still in plan, so should there be issues, you won't be out of pocket.
Test drive them all and pick the one you feel right in. We can all say which we would buy but your preferance is what matters.new and low mileage used cars dont really make a difference as long as still in service/maintenance plan
