New car advice

What's the price/year on the 2nd hand ones? Do they fall within your budget?

Simple answer is don't go to a dealership after warranty/plan expires.

The same can be said for just about any car though.
 
Thanks guys. The Audi is at R280k and has 13000KM's on the clock. Test drove it, and must say that out of them all, that's the nicest to drive. Not as fun as the fiesta or GTI, but what it misses in fun, it makes up for in appearance, quality and that interior is just awesome.

Bit pricey, and stretching my budget ever so tight, but it may be worth it, what do you guys think? If not, then I'll have to make a decision on the Polo/Fiesta.

If it's stretching your budget now, what about services, tyres and breakdowns?

The car has four years left on the warranty, maintenance and service plans. So I shouldn't need to pay for anything other than tires, which would only be around this time next year or 2016 considering the amount of mileage I do monthly.
 
I am not sure why you are wasting you time with other cars. Buy the Audi, from the get go it is the direction you wanted to go in so why complicate things?
 
New skyactiv Mazda 3.Its new, Japanese, efficient, sensible and will do 300-400k without breaking the bank. For a student an Audi would be expensive to run in the medium to long term. You should probably get the Audi seeing as u really want it seems like u have some dough and can get more if u need so luxury german cars shouldn't be an issue for u cost wise.

What d'ya know. Actually looks pretty good. Kind of like an Alfa exterior with an A3'ish interior.

That Mazda 3 actually does look awesome, which is surprising for a Mazda. I'm going to check it out as well, a bit cheaper as well. Tempting.

One note, the most sought after tech (like the popup screen, navigation, and 9-speaker BOSE sound system) are exclusive to the top trim model, which retails for R 326,300

That being said, I would definitely consider this car. Had I not already purchased an A3 Sedan earlier the year, I might well have ended up with one of these in the driveway instead. Only real negative is the service plan compared to the Audi.
