New Keyboard, iTouch and Leopard

How powerful are the USB2.0 ports?

I can`t plug my flash drive into the old keyboard?
Get a "USB Hub power exceeded' message on my "old" one.

In a another thread post it was stated that the old keyboard has USB v1 ports - that could be your problem.

Fudzy, it is a lot, but then, it has a full aluminium body - I'm pretty sure any other brand in that kind of casing is going to cost a fair bit.

Yeah, I must admit, after seeing it on the site it does look like a sexy piece of kit. Wish they'd make a Windows version :( ... in black rather.

Sadly I'm getting the same on the new one. I wonder how much power a keyboard uses?

My powered devices work fine. I think it's really just a matter of the keyboard using a big enough chunk of power already.

I have no idea how much a keyboard uses, but I have an external DVDWR that has a USB port for data and another USB plug for power. The cable that goes into this has the little D shape USB plug on the drive's end, and on the other end it has a normal USB plug, and a PS2 plug.

So a PS2 port can deliver enough power for a DVD writer to operate on. Hmmm....

I was deciding whether to buy ram, or a keyboard and leopard this month.

Guess I`ll do the the ram then.

How about ram and leopard?

What if you attached the keyboard itself to a powered hub?

I can spend around 2k on my mac this month. Going from 1gig of ram to 3 gigs should do something at least.

Only been using Tiger for around 6 months now, so still new to me.
If Leopard could read and write properly to NTFS, I`d definately get it.

Nothing that blows my hair back in Leopard so far.
Just looks nicer.

With Windows it`s always a good thing to wait. ;)

Get your RAM from Transintl.com :)
Got my Mac Pro RAM there :). It may be cheaper incl
shipping and VAT.

Don't you get 5 licences with each copy of Leopard. How many Macs does bwana own, more than 5? :)
For an extra $70 you can get a five license family pack . . it might be enough :)

I don't see that making a difference, since the onboard USB ports are powered. But just for kicks I tried it anyway. No go. Not even unplugging the mouse leaves enough power. :(

What in Explorer do you miss?

Open Finder in List View, now select one file, hold down shift and use the down arrow to select more, if you make a mistake and select more files than you needed to using the up arrow selects the file above the one u initially selected. This sucks.

Its pretty easy to deselect individual files but I see what you mean. I think the general inconsistency is my major complaint wrt finder.
