Are people still gonna fight this now or leave it the way they have set it up. im rather happy with how they have set it up now.

I think there's a need to continue the conversation at least a little further. I commend Telkom for doing anything at all, but the cynic in my wonders whether they actually looked at the numbers, or just made the minimum adjustment they think they can get away with. If they have the data to show that a fraction of people exceed 300GB per month there will be very little grounds from which to mount a further fight.

On a personal front I'm satisfied because I've not breached 300GB as long as I've had the connection, and I'm unlikely to between now and fibre.

I ain't happy. 300gb may be enough for those that don't steam but if one streams 300gb is not much.
Telkom threw in an extra 50gb from 250gb - the previous throttling point - and expect all to be happy with their shafting.

Wonder if Telkom will be updating the marketing to reflect the new AUP...

Overall, I reckon it's still a great deal as this package has saved my bottom and wallet a few times. Had to use it at the new house while waiting for fiber to be installed. Am now using it at the new office while waiting for fiber to be installed.

Most I did was around 400GB in the first month (4 months ago). Since then usage has probably averaged less than 200GB. Sitting at 84GB currently.

On Vodacom, 20GB costs R1k apparently so the same type of usage would have cost me R50k :crylaugh: (versus the R3.2k this has cost me over these 4 months).

It's an increase of 100gb from 200gb to 300gb. 250gb was for the 256kbps throttle, which is now 350gb and at 2Mbps.

Not gonna lie and say i'm happy about the new FUP, burning through 300GB is not hard at all. I would have preferred 400GB.
O well, when I first heard about the new FUP i was on 188GB, was not impressed only having 12GB left for the rest of the month. At least now i have 100GB to last me the last 10 days. On average a 720p movie of 90min is +- 1.4gb (streaming), this means a household should be able to watch 6 movies per night.

End of next month will give me an better indication if this will work for our household or not.

Sad that they are basically forcing us to download illegally (p2p) to get more bang for buck :whistling:

Personally, I'm OK with the new T&Cs. Only because I've only barely breached 300GB once.

This compromise, however, will not exonerate TM for the misrepresentation/miscalculation or whatever it was that preempted this fiasco. Those of you who are not satisfied with their proposed data thresholds, should still take this further, and be placed in the exact position you were had you not contacted with TM.

Those of you engaging with Jacqui. Please suggest TM disperse the month's start-end dates for users.

As it is everybody's month commences on the 1st. And as such, I suspect the network is strained until users are throttled. If TM had to stagger our starting dates for a new month, it will essentially stagger those spiked usage periods too, and possibly render the network less congested, more often. Thnx

Edit: example; half start on the 1st, other half on the 15th of each month.
