I think Telkom should be more proactive they're the best mobile network and I truly believe that. If they notice you've been doing maybe 175GB a month any suddenly you're reaching 300GB they should know that isn't behavior of a network abusiver. Especially if the increase in data is across the majority of the users.

Guys the cap until throttle will have to be set at 900GB. Telkom used Afrihost method for abuse so at 90Mbps.. cap is 900GB :)

Also it seems telkom's network is copping with the all the bandwith being consumed right. what was all the fuss about Telkom?

Its true u have the most amount of fibre.. so u should have the fastest and best network.. And u are not running 10Gb fibre links all around.. u are running 100Gb fibre rings.. maybe even higher capacity right now..

The non netflix streamers are happy. Those using product as sold probably not.

I don't know what methodology Telkom has used to determine the 300gb cap, but I agree a 900gb cap is better suited ESPECIALLY considering the terms and conditions stated UNLIMITED STREAMING and web browsing.

The 300gb cap is nothing but Telkom's GREED !

“We understand that quality data connectivity is in high demand and our new FUP reflects our understanding of this.”

“However, in instances where existing LTE Uncapped customers may have requirements beyond what we can cater for on this specific LTE product, we would like to engage these customers on alternative products better suited to their needs.”

“We are also willing to release these customers impacted by the FUP from their existing contracts without any penalty.”

Telkom's greed and absolute disregard for its subscribers is well articulated in the above statement.

The uncapped unlimited etc terminology is not literal, no matter what package from any isp you get, you're under a FUP.

Also remember that the 300gb is not a hard cap, you can still SD stream at 2Mb speeds.

Yes but the original contract terms / advertising stated that for streaming you will not be capped nor throttled.
At 2Mbps it is as good as a hard cap; not a line speed worth much in 2016.

I understand what you saying that you want it to be unlimited and everything but just like some people that have been raving on this feed well 2 guys from some news host group they abuse this system and even try abuse it as much as they can, they messed it up for everyone else and the price you paying for what you getting makes it why worth it. Just the abuse is unreal when you have idiots around

Yes at 2Mbps it is a SLOW, INADEQUATE and DYSFUNCTIONAL uncapped account (when one considers the content/media available in 2016).

This is both sad and true. What irks me is Telkom will get away with it, because people will allow them to get away with it.

I can just about live with the revised FUP but Telkom should make top up bundles available at R2 per gig for the big hitters who cannot.

If they implement a 300gb cap to reduce congestion on the network, it means that the network will only be freed later on in the month because no one is hitting the cap in the first few days of the month.

I'd suggest they rather cap 10gb per day. Its more manageable and at least if you went way out today, your speed will be reset tomorrow.
