When will you realise, it's not about the price of the service- it's about the fact that they changed the agreement.

No argument from me, or anyone else, that it is the cheapest LTE offering available, but that isn't the issue here. If they had changed the price midway trough contract (which, ironically, would still be the exact same issue as we currently have: breach of contract), then yeah, you can go right ahead and hammer on price.

This all started with Voda and MTN changing prices mid-contract. What did anyone do about that? Sweet f'all. That set a precedent.

And people are well within their right to complain and even take them to court about that too- or be allowed to terminate their contracts early (I guess). Two wrongs don't make a right.

Contract states they can make changes to their fup, you will get nowhere.

The fact that your 3 year old is on YouTube is firstly unhealthy for their brain development and also a Xbox using 300Gb that is just plain stupid get rid of the thing then. My PS4 maybe in a month uses 4Gb at most. Also buying games online costs more so that argument isn't gonna work. Turn off all those updates and rethink but 300Gb I think is enough and just one device using that much is crazy waste of bandwidth go get fibre then with a business uncapped package

First... I live in the Cape Flats no fiber here. If you recall the big landline outage in last year Telkom choose not to fix the problem so we don't even have copper lines.
When you say YouTube is bad for my 3 year old... I have to disagree. This will totally depend on what YouTube videos are being viewed. He mostly views educational that has help tremendously. I can tell he developed at a faster pace to his brother who did not have access to such a resource at the same age.
On buying a PS4, its cheaper... Logic. I have over 50 games on the Xbox One only paid for one ever. With a Xbox Live sub you get decent games free every month. Sorry Xbox still cheaper. But yes it's data hungry.

Steady on, prepare for the barrage of "You shouldn't have 50 games, why should you need 50 games when you could just use 2?" :D

1. Are you an expert on child development? Do you have all the facts as to whether the content of what this child is watching is definitely unhealthy for his brain development? If not, wtf?

2. Is it your place to tell him how to raise his child?

3. Do you ever switch on your PS4?

4. Buying games online is always more expensive? Really? I got Battlefield 4 for R73 this past month. It's R319 at Takealot. How does this fit in with your theory? Did I mention they release a ton of game packs and modes for free also in this past month? That was around 15GB itself. Do you think they normally mail these releases on a disc?

5. If 300GB is enough for you why do you assume everyone has the same needs as you do? Is that your attitude toward everything in life?

Yep. Just love the way everyone is described as "stupid" or "greedy".

You really dont get it do you?
You keep on raising irrelevant issues.

No use complaining any further on the issue. Your only options are:

(A) If the revised offer is acceptable for you : stay on.
(B) If the revised offer is not acceptable and/or on principal and/or they've "raped" you and/or etc etc etc claim the penalty-free release, and find a more suitable option.

Any other "but this" and "but that" is pointless. Save yourself heart / pressure / anger problems by making a choice that enjoying stress-free downloading/uploading/streaming on the ISP of your choice that offers your suitable package.

Most people seem to be missing the point about this whole event, it's got nothing to do with what you are happy with, it's about what the agreement was when you decided to enter into it for 24 months. Why in the world do people (or should I say sheep) accept this ?
/words
Don't roll over ...

Bud, if you have the energy to fight it then be my guest but it's peeing in the wind. Are you going to convince them to revoke the new FUP, really? For me if it was set at 220gb I'd probably have cancelled my contract and found a truly uncapped offering. As it is, 300gb is still sufficient for my own needs, and after dealing with the department of home affairs this morning my energy levels for fighting parastatal incompetence are ~zilch.

Penalty-free is a lie i had to pay R4732 to get my contract canceled today even after mailing Jacqui..apparently my usage pattern was deemed "normal" so my advice please abuse the hell out of this service even more so if you don't want to pay ridiculous amount of money for a service that they changed and good luck with stop order..enjoy your blacklist and destroyed credit

Why did you cancel?

300GB Data on a 90Mbps connection with 4 people in the house that are all power users...lol i rather get 10MBps ADSL and not worry about usage 300GB lasts about a week maybe depending on what steam updates and when, same with Windows 10 updates and who streams what...its not working for me and i cant stream with throttling or do my work..

Also from Telkom's side its not abuse as they said my usage pattern is "normal" :crylaugh:

By show of hands, how many of you who were throttled and then unthrottled are seeing the same speeds you were prior to the 200gb throttle. I'm no longer throttled to 4Mbps/256kbps but am not seeing anything vaguely resembling the 50Mbps prior to this whole debacle. Lucky if I'm getting 20Mbps consistently...

I am getting between 12-21MBps so confirmed currently sitting at 600GB odd nothing was used to try bypass any limits as of yet..
