Don't you transfer a cent to him though. If you want to do the deal you meet him in person and see the cards working with your own eyeballs. He's relatively unknown there, be careful

I feel like this is going to be a thread like that dude who took about 3 months to buy his PC...who was that guy again?
Hallmarks...I see them

Haha sounds good, will you come along as my bodyguard at the meet? You can totally wear a black jacket and you'll have to find a motorbike again.
Will depend on the model, there are various ones. Some are standard reference designs, some have better cooling, factory OC etc. If you post specifics of the ones you're looking at we can tell you more.
Yeah, a lot of the 6GB ones have OC in the name. Is that good, to have factory overclocking?
You'll find some models are 100 or 200 MHz faster than the reference. Doubt it's really noticeable in game, so go for the cheapest.
Thanks Bio. Just one question: can you install a long card in a mini ATX motherboard?
It seems that one gets small, medium and large PC cases too.
What is recommended?
Well Ponder, one of the reasons I'm asking is because the motherboard you suggested at the start was a Mini ATX board.
Considering a mini ATX board would look weird in a big case, I'll need to find a happy middle ground.
Maybe a medium board and medium caseNow what's "medium" is the tricky bit.

Phew, it's like everybody has just gotten a secret memo to dump their graphics cards on Carb. The GTX1060 specifically is being sold all over ... which is great coz that's the one I want, but I still need to find somebody who will give it to me at a price I feel comfortable with. So far everybody is asking R5 300 - R6 000, and I'm trying to get somebody to sell me one for R4 000. Here's to hoping I get lucky
Speaking of the same GPUs, is there any difference between a Gigabyte 1060 and a Zotac 1060 or a MSI 1060 for example? I now know to only look for the 6GB versions and not the 3GB versions, but not sure if there's a specific brand to aim for if the price is right.
The ether mining difficulty went up greatly last month...some of the people who bought them for mining are probably giving them up as early as they can to recoup some of what they spent on them.
