New The PC Build Thread

AMD's AM5 motherboard vendors have released AMD Chipset Driver 7.03.21.2116. The driver on AMD's website is still 7.02.13.148.

Just a notice. There is no changelog, nothing.

To add, this has nothing to do with EntrySign. That will be resolved via a new BIOS.

Can anyone advise me if this would be a good build, I want to do small form factor due to space issues, I am unsure about the motherboard, this will be my 1st AMD build as well, I already have a GPU - 3080ti and PSU 1000w Antec Platinum so no need to spend money there.

I currently have a i5 8600K and its definitely time for an upgrade.

Not sure of the all glass around the case, airflow could be an issue.
Though everything else looks good :-)

Airflow is fine. Bottom in and top and side out. But those are fixed mode RGB's. They are always going to look like that. Would buy 3x reversed fans to replace them myself. You'll need an RGB controller as well then though.

Good to know, it might be a case my son would actually use. His case is an old Coolermaster CM690. Which his old micro-atx motherboard looks tiny in :-)

Any other case you guys would recommend for a small build like that? I don't mind paying a bit more.

If you dont care about glass.. then this is an extremely good small case that will fit even 5090 monsters (well the custom ones, reference 5090's fit in just about anything) : Lian Li Dan A3

Edit: oof, just saw they out of stock again ,they do sell out fast though

Well how much depth do you really need to have? 350mm like he CX200 is going to be hard to beat.

My vote too is the Lian Li A3. But get the Wood. Just looks so good.

Or if you are into the conventional PC look get the Montech 100. This case is very good value and will also save you from a broken side panel thus very easy pop open to work with.

Anyone here with an RTX GPU tried the latest Nvidia drivers?

Reports have it that RTX GPUs could have an up to 8% performance enhancement. This obviously varies from the RTX generation and title. Though the improvements seem consistent with benchmarking tools like 3DMark.

WCCF Tech reported up to 7% gains with the RTX 5080 using driver 576.02.

I see there is a lot of trolling going on with this news, so... best do your own benchmarks.

Reddit discussion here:

Some RTX 40 people report up to 4% gains.

Does nothing for old 30 and 20 series

trigger pulled on 9070

Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 GAMING OC GV-R9070GAMING OC-16GD 16GB GDDR6 256-bit PCI-E 5.0 Desktop Graphics Card

This is to replace the 3070ti which a friend is going to buy, he's going from onboard Radeon Vega 5 to this :-)
Plus got the Antec AX85 to replace my sons old now crumbling CM690, I also needed to get an ARGB controller for the fans, cause his mobo doesn't have it.

Nope not going to do the bios mod, it says it has the LED controller button, but none of it actually says it does besides plugging into the motherboard or controller.
I just looked at the manual found on line and sigh yeah looks like it does have it's own controller.

Indeed def has the button, its my go to case.most of my builds as ax61 discontinued.

How does it work without a reset button??
Both ax85 and ax61 need have wired reset button or a button switch. Ax61 uses reset button as the switch, so ax61 does not technically have reset button once it is wired up. Ax85 has dedicated led button.
