Nx410 v2 is good, very nice case to work in and has "door opening" type of side panel.

I saw so, but just putting it out there. Micro ATX cases are a little tight to work on. Though if he gets Wootware to build it, who cares :-)

Surprised nobody mentioned the Arc B580 gfx card. Cheaper and 12gb Vram also a better performer in -almost- all games and little to no cpu overhead since he's going for a 9600x cpu .. the 3060's are moeg, let them retire :P.

Since he's building it himself that tells me he can adjust the oddball game that the Intel Arc might have a minor hiccup with.

If he's dead set on team green though, would be better to save a bit more (or help him out) to get a newer 12gb or higher nvidia card.

Wouldnt suggest going lower than a 7700XT if going Amd gfx. Second hand, a 6700xt still performs extremely well.
 
He is getting the 5060 Ti 16Gb isn't he?

Which is a good choice because he is going to need MFG when UE6 hits in just 2 years.

Original was a 3060 ti to fit in a 1300w power supply which was 1600 overkill

ASRock motherboards have become the graveyard of Ryzen 9000 CPUs. While motherboards from other vendors also killed some, there is no competition to ASRock boards, which have now killed nearly 200 CPUs, if we go by the reported cases. Such incidents are likely to be much higher if we could consider non-reported cases as well.

The number of Ryzen 9000 CPUs dying in this way is rather insignificant at this time. For now, the assumption is irregular voltages caused by motherboard, CPU, and memory pairings. I don't know. It is certainly no graveyard.

Asrock is having a hard time. A key selling point for their brand is their high-power phase design for value offering...
 
Power supply is overkill unless you want a 5090 or more... get that down, 1000W max is more than enough.

3060 graphics card is a no for me, I run a 3060Ti and it's great and way better than a 3060... and mine is old now. A 5060Ti would be a little more expensive and you'd get another 20fps over a 3060... .always go for the "Ti" just pay it... I think you're looking at about R1,000 more or so.

32GB RAM is overkill, just get 16GB for now, you can always upgrade later.

The overriding factor is ALWAYS the graphics card...

You can always try Carbonite if you want to buy second hand, they are very good and great deals all the time.

32gb is min almost these if want chrome open and a game, chrome just so hungry for ram.
