For what? B580 is better at encoding/transcoding but the drivers are still under development so not as well supported as the nvidias for gaming/AI work.

Gaming. My RTX2080 is giving me some real issues and I think it might be time to retire it.

Send it to me. I can prob use it for parts and such.

Go with the 4060 since it outperforms the 5050. B580 is just asking for issues in gaming.

I'll contradict longboy by going ARC just because I can't stomach the 8GB vram. Its Intel so whatever driver issues are still there will get resolved.
But at the end of the day they are pretty much the same with pros and cons to each.

I second ARC for gaming. The SO has an A750 and I have a B580. Haven't experienced any issues with any of the games we play. Re Intel drivers, while not as mature as the others, they are very usable.

Just make sure you have rebar enabled and you are 80% there

I know I've asked before but didn't commit at that stage, actually building it seems more likely at this point.

It's purely a gaming rig and is intended to last unchanged for quite some time. Having the option to upgrade a part or 2 at some point is a nice to have.

In two minds about the 7800x3d vs the 9800x3d. Settled on the case as I want to go with a wood finish. Feeling the PSU and MB may be overkill.

https://www.wootware.co.za/lian-li-...eel-micro-atx-mini-tower-desktop-chassis.html looks a bit better but you'd need an matx mobo. Perhaps cheaper psu and between the case+mobo and psu you have the difference for a 5080 instead of the 5070ti

You will need fans for that case. It's a great case btw - I have the C8 White Aluminium with 9 Lian-Li fans. Lian-Li Galahad Lite cooler as well is cheap but powerful.

Here's my build minus the white case - I went for 1440p gaming and settled for the beast of a Gigabyte 9070 XT OC.

9070xt also just got driver update making kt faster than 5070ti!
Nope just watched updated reviews, it's about the same, yes it's faster but it's also not faster than the 5070ti, even in games like Space Marine that it was, the 5070ti is now 9% faster after it's driver updates.

Why are we still being spoonfed 5 year old chassis passed as 'new' everywhere in this country and the few that are new are bottom entries?

Wootware especially has a **** selection of cases there's something wrong when you can buy better from Takealot instead of the leading PC shop.

Used 3070?

Can you give an example?

Wootware seem to have new Lian Li chassis.

However, stock of Phanteks products (specifically fans) is pretty bad.

Not disagreeing, curious which case on TAL you are referring to?

Bottom line for them is profit I guess. They have a huge selection of old Montech cases and fans for years now.

There's just a few good cases albeit old like the Lian-Li Lancool / EVO series. The Antec C8 cases are also very good for their age.

It's also a pity that they don't stock Noctua or Thermalright coolers. I had to get my D15 cpu cooler via Amazon.

Its not a specific example. Its an overall observation. Its the same with CPU's.

Few days ago I was following a reddit thread where guys were talking about new cases having single IO panel cables and I was like what? Where? Never seen one.

I'll give my left nut to walk into a store like this -

You'd need to donate your left nut to get a trip to the US then, cos we'll never see a store like that in SA.
