New WA special?

Ok sorted, phoned Sales, they already billed me for R490 but they'll credit it and bill the R199 - awesome. Just what I've been waiting for WebAfrica - glad I didn't jump ship! ;)

Titan order confusion

This is a bit confusing. On the order progress page, I get the following:
Order Progress
enquiry Step 1: Order Received
- We have received your order and it is currently being processed.

enquiry Step 2: Submitted Order to Telkom (pending)
- We have processed your order and submitted it to Telkom. Telkom will then verify that the ADSL line installation/transfer is possible.

enquiry Step 3: Order Number Received from Telkom (pending)
- We have received an order number from Telkom, which means your ADSL line is currently queued for installation/transfer by Telkom.

enquiry Step 4: Titan DSL Special Activated (pending)
- Your ADSL Line has been installed successfully.

BUT: I have an existing line with WA and only want the new package and cancel my old package. What gives?

What exact package did you take? There's the Titan COMPLETE and the Titan DATA . The complete includes your line....., the data is only the data. Above sounds like you might have signed up for the Titan Complete ? Maybe it's standard procedure to move your line back to Telkom from current ISP and then move it from Telkom to new ISP...and in this case it's WA->Telkom->WA .

I had the same thing. Just give them a call and they will sort it out for you.

Me too - it did take a few calls and I do suggest you follow up carefully as it took some checks to ensure all was in place. Anyway I was sorted as of today so that is great

Speedtest to London - 4 meg line

http://www.speedtest.net/result/801947392.png

Not great at all. Since moving from a complete 7 to Titan package, I do feel that I have had a drop in performance News servers have slowed quite a bit. This is the worst speedtest I have seen on my line since the move and this early in the morning

I suggest you do speedtests to the USA. I think there's something up in Europe -for everyone on every connection- . I have pretty crappy latency to London, but better latency to the USA than i've -ever- had. I think there's possibly some congestion related to Seacom or something? Both my Afrihost/Axxess acounts has been performing faaar worse than your "worst speedtest ever" to London, so dunno...

Right, so I just got a call from Web Africa wanting to confirm some of my details. They then asked me to send the debit order confirmation form back to them (which I did on Friday already). I told the lady I had done so and she said she would just check with billing before activating my account. I didn't have the heart to tell her that I've been using it over the weekend already. Let her run off on her little wild goose chase.

Okay so I just had a check on the normal ADSL data Bundle page of WA.

1GB = R59
4GB = R199
11GB = R490

But on the same page they advertise the R15/GB top-up.

Thus

1GB = R59 + 10GB @ R15 = R209 in Total & 11GB

R209 against R490 for 11GB is a huge difference of R281.

The difference is more than what you end up paying.

So can somebody from WA please care to comment?
Looking at doing it this way instead of the Titan packages since it will work out cheaper for us and we get 4 concurrent connections which we need.

I thought so also but the cheaper upgrade package is not available if not on Titan I had a complete7 and then top up is R 69...
