New Windows-powered tablet-notebook hybrids now in SA

Now we just need to find a compatible mouse for it .
Really looking at getting the 8" for the kids. They can do their projects on it instead of hogging my pc. I can setup the printer to share on the lan at home for them to print. Starting to see more benefits of getting this than an android tablet. It is just the 1gb memory that is worrying as i see some of the games on the ms store require 2gb mem.

I have a reason for you: you need it to test those new Universal apps you'll be developing...
I don't make universal apps because there's no interest in Windows 8 apps yet...
This device might change that, time will tell.

But you will need to make your WP apps universal ones. Win10 is not that far off, followed by WP10.
Making universal apps isn't hard especially if you have WP apps(same code base).
Windows 10 will probably unify everything which is perfect, another exciting thing I'll be entering Android dev soon.

I got the 8.
Loving it so far!
it came with a screen protector in the box at the bottom. solid build quality, screen is not bad either!
netflix, hulu, wiziwig > then project to wireless display and I am loving it!

for a media device it more than does the job.
its a fully capable desktop version of windows yes and not some hack job "mobile" version.
torrents, youtube.....
its a very good buy for 1500.
the 1gb ddr3 ram and quad-core processor seem more than capable as well!
just need to dorp in a 64gb sd and i'm sorted.
battery life is very very good i must admit! bought it late yesterday afternoon, and still using it now sitting on 12% have not charged it yet. 2A charger means it will charge in the 4 hours mentioned on the box!

the 10inch comes a bit too close to other options in that price category.
this 8inch seems like the sweet spot here!
