the par files work through QuickPar to repair the rar files if there is blocks missing.

Is it just me or are the webafrica news servers not allowing connections?

Edit: Never mind, I got my connection

the threads in grabit, doesnt that represent the max threads you can extract? eg i have 19 rar files to extract so grabit should be able to extract all at the same time? howcome it only does three at a time and queue the rest?

SAIX server should be set to two connections, not three.

I turned off auto extract. I let Grabit download the files then I use Winrar to unrar them. I just find it easier that way

Also, when you say extract do you mean download?

Are you on the trial account? I haven't been able to use the webafrica trial account since early in the month :/ Even now it is struggling to connect
[I may have read somewhere that the trail accounts dont work with newsservers?]

I normally download only the par files that is 1-2mb. That way I can determine if I need more par files to repair without downloading the whole lot, saving between 10 to 50 MB depending on the DL.

are they not like one of the best? maybe you have some setting wrong?

Are they the right choice for me? going to get one soon:)

Yes, they are super! I grab a lot from them... but every now and then you get a file that has the first RAR missing. Sometimes you can go back and find it, sometimes not. Just weird that it has happened to me on about ten files so far. But ten files out of several hundred over the last six months is not much to complain about ;)
