I got one recently and they were under R700.
 
Vote: Northcliff, I'm in Little Falls & got all the equipment.
 
I voted for Northcliff - however on climbing onto my roof, I notice a huuuuge tree has grown in a neighbours yard, blocking my vision totally. I can still see the tower, but the flats were they propose is totally blocked.

What are the odds of putting it on a building owned by ABSA? ;)
 
If you know the general direction and position the signal should be able to push through the trees. You don't wanna see what my area looks like
 
I want to join this JAWUG, I stay in near Holiday inn in Auckland Park just by the German School, I've been checking on JAWUG,. I'm in but the Equipment is to much for my pocket atm. When I've cash, I'll order system from Uni. Then join you guys/girls

1. Is the next Node going to go up on Northcliff?
2. Is there any equipment required for this to happen because I am sure there are many people with old pc's ying around that they could donate.
3. When is it going to be online.

I heard the tower thing sto connect cost like R10,000.00 - is this true? Who pays?

I have the card and stuff from Megawan - but I meant the actual node (I think it's called) or rather, the thing I would link to.
 
I am in Dainfern, can anyone see Dainfern from their node??? i am very interested in joining, just unsure if i can connect to the jawug network from here...
 
Fluke i stay in fourways gardens, and am also intersted in joining, nearly got all the equipment

That's excellent news. This sure is exciting times with all these community projects running, the SNO beginning operations later this year, people uniting against Telkom and so on.

Let's do this thing... I vote Northcliff. I have clear LOS and I know of at least three or four other okes who would be very interested as well.

What is needed to get this thing rolling? Come on people... Time's a wasting.... :cool:

Let's say it's gonna cost R10k for whaetever is needed... surely there are at least 100 people in here who would be willing to contribute R100 each?

I'd be willing to contribute something towards the cost, even though I have no LOS to Northcliff...
