Hi People

For the second month in arrow now, I have noticed something which is quite disturbing to me, though not unexpected seeing what a bunch of crooks our ISP' are.

It appears that when my Night Surfer portion gets exhausted, it automatically exhausts my normal data, and I mean without it being used up.
This month I had about 9GB normal left, and around 6GB Night Surfer, when I woke up I found that the file I was downloading (+-5GB) was still not finished, and ALL my data was finished.

PS - there is nothing else downloading, My data was stolen, there is no better word for it.

Anyone with similar experience or perhaps even a solution??

Need to be confirmed but i read a member on the forum saying that if your session is still active prior to night surfer, this can happen. Official confirmation would be great though.

Am sure a test can be done by reconnecting which will start a new session from 00:01am for example.

This is normal that after night data is finished it will take any other available data. What is good and nice that it will stop at 0MB and will not eat your airtime at the rate R2/MB.

Regarding stealing data, it is significant figure, more than 10GB extra. Do you have enabled Windows Update? If you are using Windows 10, it is possible. I had one machine updating to th2, instead of getting th2 ESD file straight away, it was downloading outstanding minor updates, crashing and downloading again. The same happened when finally Windows Update started to download the right th2. Installation crashed and ESD file had been deleted. I saw when it happened and pulled the plug. It wasted 3GB and it could be more if not interrupted.

Didn't your download continue into non-nightsurfer hours?

I have bad news for you I have a thread on here from last month saying Telkom steals your bandwith even had screen shots and reports to prove everything, after Telkom investigated they came back to us saying that all was fine and that normal data was not deducted instead of midnight, now this was even after I did an experiment by switching off the router, then taking prints screens of data and then downloading a huge file after 12h00 and then when file was done took more screenshots and it clearly showed me loosing normal data instead of midnight.

So in short Telkom is the only company providing us with the service we need, but they are the worse company in most likely the world, Telkom is truly a piece of crap company and i truly hope along the line they go bust, you will always have problems with them, I actually cancelled my one contract with them last month and this month that contract was still active and there response to that was I have to wait another 21 days for the contract to be cancelled

Just in short what you do have to make sure tho is that if you downloaded a torrent that you're seeding speed is not set to unlimited, because on torrents you automatically seed the file you download and download bandwith and upload bandwith is calculated together to give you your capp, so it's very possible that the file you downloaded was seeded and upload speeds on mobile is pretty high and thus explaining why you lost all your data and did not even finish downloading the file so be very careful of that.

As for Telkom we will stick with these idiots until someone wakes up and provides us with the same service and price and by that I don't mean cell C because they are almost just as useless as Telkom.

Night Surfer

I have nothing but good things to say about 8ta and I have used them for many years now. However, two nights ago I surfed the internet from 01:30 to about 03:00 in the morning. I downloaded many huge files. To my dismay, it deplete my normal 2GB bundle and did not use any data from my night surfer bundle.

Did I do anything wrong?

Were you torrenting the file? If so dont forget that once you have completed the download it will continue to Seed which will still use data.

I have to agree with the other guys regarding torrent downloads. Be very careful. You are downloading and uploading (seeding) the same file to other people. If you have are on a capped contract or on very low data, you do have the option to go in your torrent settings and change the bandwith uploading to a very low minimum upload. I bump my head like this in the beginning when I started to use torrent. All my data went missing only to find out later about the torrent uploading (seeding) problem on torrents.

But if you log off after midnight and log back in and it still chouws your daytime data, then there is a bigger problem on this.
