Nutribullet

Someone posted this Carrot Juicer 5000 Dub in the Youtube must see vids part 2 thread. I remembered my roommate mentioned she'd like a Nutribullet, we liked this video so much, I bought her one for Xmas.

Frozen mother****in' bananas. Chuck it in the blender with some milk of your choice, a mango or chocolate or vanilla and bam! It's a double-thick shake without the need for ice-cream.

Srsly tho...frozen bananas.

+1

Made it but yeah the texture was questionable

I had some awesome smoothies down at Blaauwklippen yesterday, went past a store and saw the Nutribullet advertised, The English HO told me to research,, lo and behold, MyBB steps up to the plate with awesome reviews, will purchase today....

Thanks!

Once you use a nutribullet or a high-speed blender (like a Vitamix or the cheaper alternatives) you'll never want to use a regular blender again. There's no comparison.
So what makes it special? I have a 500w Blender and it works well & cleans easily. This seems overpriced for a blender...

Best juicer is the oscar

Apologies for reviving an old thread ....

Also heard good things about the Oscar. I have just completed 3 weeks of Fitchef meals and am now used to the spinach based smoothies twice a day. At R25 each I'm in the market for an Oscar or Nutribullet.

Do you guys manage to make a week's worth over a weekend and keep it or do you make every morning for the day? Thinking of making 5l to use by wife and I during the week and just decant into little plastic bottles to take to work.

Any other ideas or advice before I go and buy?

Nutribullet is a blender, Oscar is a juicer. Which one do you want?

Want to make smoothies where I can chuck spinach and other veg in. Typically that would mean a masticating appliance like the Oscar, but it seems as if the Nutribullet gets the same results, hence the question

We have both. With the Oscar, you get juice with very little to no pulp. With the Nutribullet, pulp and all are blended into the mix. The Oscar takes ages to juice a sufficient amount to drink, while the Nutribullet blends fruit and veg in seconds. You end up using 3-4 times the fruit and veg in the Oscar that you'd use in the Nutribullet and you have to mix/shake everyhing in by hand.

For reference, we haven't used the Oscar in 2 years, while the Nutribullet gets frequent use. The Nutribullet is also quite a bit cheaper.

So I had a few eBucks lying around and noticed a Nutribullet special on at Dischem. R1,999 for the 600w unit 12 piece bundle with 12 x 300ml coconut waters.

Pulled the trigger and I'm beyond impressed. I usually make protein shakes with peanut butter and frozen banana in a regular shaker with a stick blender, however since switching to the Nutribullet the mess and effort have been replaced with smoother shakes and more time to klap gym (boet).

I've also started fruit + leafy green smoothies and really, where have they been all my life? They taste great (because **** kale, spinach FTMFW) and I'm already feeling healthier.

It's a bit pricey if you don't have ebucks (in which case why are you still with a poverty spec bank?), but honestly worth it.

So as a non-smoothy making non-gyming (boet) sell this thing to me.

How will it change my world? What is my actual morning routine (Ages 1-3) going to be with this thing?

I wish I spent enough time in the gym to claim boet status. :(

I'm lazy, so the Nutribullet convenience really does it for me. I've always been notoriously bad at eating enough fresh fruit and veg, in fact chicken was my favourite vegetable for years until I met my Vegetarian wife who brought me over to the green side. Now that she's off to study in a foreign land I don't have anyone to [-]bitch at me[/-] prepare fruit/veg meal elements, and I've fallen back into old habits (steak and potato all day errday). I like fruit and veg, I just don't have the time/inclination to do anything about it.

With the Nutribullet it's about 3 minutes of prep dicing apples, strawberries, frozen bananas, oranges or whatever else is at hand. Throw in some almonds/cashews/chia seeds, rinsed spinach, coconut water and regular water, then blend for 30 seconds. Once I'm done drinking it takes another minute to clean the bottle/blending head and I'm on my way. 5 minutes of effort to take in an enormous amount of good, healthy produce.

I suppose if you don't mind putting in extra effort in the prep/making/cleaning phase, or you already eat enough fruit and veg then this may be wasted on you. However it fits my lifestyle perfectly and has already established itself as second most-used item in my kitchen (after the Jura coffee machine).

Wait you have to cut **** up?

I thought you just moer the whole fruit into it...isn't that sort of the point?

And what's all this fluff about coconut water?

Presumably you have this for breakfast? When do you eat again after that?

Let me clarify the cutting things up, I core the apples and cut them into quarters so that they'll fit nicely into the cup, the banana also gets cut in half for the same reason. Also I'm not a big fan of Orange peel, so that gets removed before going into the cup.

No idea about the coconut water fluff, I got a case of the stuff for free with my Nutribullet and throw it in for good measure, adds a nice taste but I probably wouldn't go out and buy more once this batch is finished.

This is pre-breakfast, I have it at around 6am. Proper breakfast is at 7am (oats, eggs and bacon etc.)

Anyone know where I can source the top base gear for the nutribullet? Mine's cracked and I noticed it smoking this morning and on removing he cup noticed the crack.

Seems this is pretty common since it's plastic.

Which is worrying.

How old is it? No warranty?
