Nvidia GeForce NOW SA launch

I genuinely can't tell if you're trolling or not.
Not trolling see for yourself what people complain about on the Rain section of this forum. Secondly Kosmik confirmed I DO need their hardware and or services? What am I missing?

Not sure about this, how will I be able to check? You don't need expensive hardware though as the servers are powerful. I think its GTX3080 being upgraded to GTX4080s. Pity that in the beta we are limited to FHD 60fps but I have Ray Tracing on at least. The whole point of the service is to give you GTX power on any device with a screen
Ctrl+Alt+F6 apparently shows session details when you playing a game

Then my thinking was correct. They monopolized it. Pity this could have been good. But now due to the many complaints on MyBB about Rain and their practices I will have to decline.
Rain hosts the servers and you need an account with them to log in currently, but you do not need to have any products with them

You are not reading what I said correctly

Dude you misread that so hard it's not even funny

That better than the 7:1 rule?
I don't understand I didn't do anything wrong.

You have no grammar so what are you trying to say? Did you mean "Do not jump to conclusion "that" you need rain hardware or network to join? OR Do not jump to the conclusion"," you need rain hardware or network to join?

I am not trying to troll. Just word it better. Because if I do not need it then why not just write "You don't need rain hardware or network to join"

You don't need to be on rain. I'm on Afrihost via Vumatel fibre and using it

Sorry I am late to the party but I am interested in this service. If I may ask a summery.

This is how I understand it It cost about $9,99 USD that translate to about R187.35 ZAR a month so about R2.25k a year. That is really not bad considering GPU prices. I stand to be corrected but there is also a free version that allows one access for one hour sessions. I don't really know what that means.

What type of Upload download speeds does one need to run this? My LTE can manage 50Mbs down and 20Mbs UP. I installed fibre a week ago it a standard 20Mbs up and 20Mbs down from Vodacom.

I think you need between 20-50Mbps to get a proper stream and latency will also play a part.

You can check trace routes to this IP.

196.46.65.138

It will give you an idea of what latency you will get to the Rain GeForce Now servers.

What happens if Rain has only 100x 3080 servers but 400 people want to play simultaneously? I'm not trying to be pessimistic, but I doubt Rain will pull this off successfully.

There will always be a limit to the amount of servers they can spin up, it happens in all regions if the demand is too high. Similar thing happened on the Xbox cloud service with the launch of Starfield, you just have to wait: https://www.windowscentral.com/gami...seeing-increased-queue-times-as-demand-surges

In the US on Ultimate there are like no wait times so I would imagine here in SA it would be similar. Maybe on launch the first month it will be busy but after that it will quiet down, I reckon especially on the Ultimate plan.

Because the two statements do not mean the same thing. One is a definite and statement of fact vs the other being a direction to not jump to conclusions.

Nothing wrong with the wording.

People, let's not get into unnecessary altercations on the forum, we're all gamers anticipating GFN here and all want one thing, for rain to launch it as soon as possible.

There'll just be longer than ideal queue times until they decide to increase capacity (if the demand is sustained long enough).

However, I doubt we will have issues since regions like NA and EU have little to no queue times on paid tiers (Ultimate tier having like 0 queue times) even though they have many many users.

I'd share the sentiment if Rain was launching their own thing from scratch but since they're working with nvidia, I have high hopes that they'll do it right. Heck, they're even taking their time with this closed beta to make sure the launch is good.

Don't think rain are doing it at that large a scale though, if GFN picks up properly after release then maybe rain will upgrade to 4080s/increase the amount of servers

Not as large as those regions but large enough for us. If they weren't doing it properly then they would've just had 1 tier (like the free tier) for the service and called it a day, instead of having different tiers but let's just wait and see.

Anyways, I've got a question for @DeTector and @zimspy. Can you guys tell us what gpu they're using on the priority plan?
