O/T: Mweb Fibre problem (Shaping??)

I wasn't talking to you.

Can we have a sign that you raise when you are? I'm not sure when I require your permission and when I can just go ahead. It's weird that only those posts where you are cornered, do you choose to remind me of this, yet the others you are happy to engage. Must be a coincidence. I mean, you said you are an expert.

I certainly wouldn't call myself an expert. I've learned a helluva lot running a successful network, but there are people far more qualified at network engineering than I am who can get away with the label expert. So Postman, you must have some sort of a PHD, or one could say "the best degrees" in networking, right?

No I wasn't. I have not either.

Oh, again, it's always everyone else misinterpreting what you say when we call you out on it. Maybe there was a global error in our school textbooks which they solved for your year only, and but have since reverted back to the old print? What a mystery.

So when you asked Sauronza why he stays with Crystal Web where you further inferred that he needs support so often even though he said no such thing, when he could move to a network that didn't have such requirements, what you really meant was "wow, i have the best packets. these packets are the fastest. i am the best packet-sender. vroooooooom" right?

I'm not dragging you into anything, and I don't lie.

I think him and I must have both misunderstood you then. Perhaps we're all just really bad at English and only you are the best at it, Donald? So, when you said that DERoestorf would confirm your story and side with your statements, with him not having been involved so far, you weren't dragging him in, you were....hmmm...voluntarily walking hand in hand towards a soapbox used for correcting people? Or wait...you were watersliding across a garden under a hot sunny day, to correct me?

Very confused here. The commonly accepted idiom that I am aware of is precisely what DERoestorf used. Have we stopped using that? Did I miss an email? Was it replaced? Or did we all just completely misunderstand what you said, and should we allow you a minute or two to prepare some crap that you think works as an excuse for this?

I'm not dragging you into anything, and I don't lie.

I suspect that this sentence ends with your favourite lie. The one where you don't tell the truth.

But it's possible that we've misunderstood English all of this time. I await your lecture-themed explanation, as usual...

Along with your case being obscure - over 4,000 views of your thread without anyone in agreement).

Well that seals it. Clearly bots don't exist, and there must have been a meeting for a group of Mweb subscribers and they all agreed to come and look at your thread. They all read it and agreed that it was obscure and they did not agree with you, and left in disgust. PostmanPot has all of the facts. It's just us plebs who are occasionally blessed with his presence and wonderfully descriptive explanations, and let's not forget that game-changing helpdesk/suport strategy. Just don't use that one. Genius...

IAre these the same links you gave me last time where MWEB says the exact same thing in that they cannot replicate it or do anything?

Did they try flaying their arms up in the air in despair like they just don't care? Because if so, they clearly tried everything.

Hey DERoestorf, did Mweb ever remote into your machine to observe the behaviour for themselves? Did they ask for OS, browser, time of day, and a short description of how you were able to trigger the issue before? Did they provide you with an alternate account to trial with to see if the problem was replicated? Did they capture the packets on their end to analyse them properly for you? Did they check the controllers to be sure it was being recognised and categorised correctly? Did they ever have you attempt to replicate using alternate CPE?

You already have the sign. I will quote you when I'm talking to you.

I never asked that. I never inferred that.

Simple enough.

We have established that you don't care much for details, nor do you know what you're looking for, so I can see how this was simple enough for you. Fortunately our staff realise that it's nowhere near as easy as that and you actually have to understand the underlying network infrastructure and all devices in the connection so as to better understand the impact to the customer.

But look, you say you are an expert, so I must be preaching to the choir here with your super attention to detail and ability to use your John Edward Spidey sense to assume what the notice meant and assume how that impacts a customer. And if that doesn't work, just don't use that "thing" that was not working. Then, according to you, the problem doesn't exist...

There's no need to impress me. It won't happen with the continued sarcasm either.

I'll continue posting and helping where I can using the same methods others who also receive praise use. I'll also continue correcting the false MWEB myths too many have here. They're a great ISP.

A false myth, are there that many MWEB myths?

Thanks for letting me know. Just so we're clear on the matter, I perfectly understand your decision in this respect and it is logical and rational - but earlier on there were quite a few posts that you flat-out ignored. It's quite clear that you were talking to me prior to my posting the responses. And I have triple-checked now and the quotes are definitely there, so I do believe they qualify for your blessed response. Please can you reply there asap, or let me know what I did wrong so I can fix the posts up to allow you to respond. I feel a lot was said, and we need to incorporate it into this discussion. Without it, this discussion is being held back like a Donald Trump child in pre-school...

A simple question with a simple answer within a few minutes based on publicly available info.

I haven't said that. Checking a public notice board does not require any expertise.

Damnit, bamboozled by the rules again. You got me. But now that I've got you here talking to me, please provide me with your gracious response to this:

Fsck yeah, man! Next time just quote him the ingredients list from a can of baked beans. Same result, amiright?

It's not like exchanges have any equipment in them that are of a complex nature where one may need to understand its impact to services. It's not like the software upgrades actually do ANYTHING, right? It's not like routing and cabling needs to be run, right? It's not like aggregation happens? It's not like ports are switched and routers replaced? It's not as if each of these has a different impact on the end user, with many of them no impact at all if done correctly. I mean why learn and have to do the boring stuff, right? If Telkom has a notice out, just use it else it goes to waste? It's looking for someone to accept it as their excuse for the day.

Tell me something, if someone accidentally dials the wrong number and gets through to you, do you still have enough time to make up an excuse and blame Telkom, or do you just let those incidents go and work on quicker reflexes for the future?

I should ask Drifter to rate the support he received, and whether he got the answer he was looking for or not.

Internet on and off today. Are there issues in 016 dialing code area?.

Yes, Telkom issues.

OK now look, in all seriousness, blink twice if you are in danger or they are holding people you love hostage, because it's really starting to come across like that...
