Office 2003/2007 Issues

HI guys, I am having the strangest problem on my wife’s work Pc and I am now lost for ideas. Started out last week she called me in because none of her office applications would run. When you clicked on word excel etc I would get an install bar come up as if it was just about it install the app, never the less nothing happens after that. I tried to uninstall office 2003 and it wouldn’t let me, so I eventually found an app that deleted it. Now I have upgraded her from 2003 to Office 2007, all the apps work except Outlook, every time I open it, it hangs and if I close and reopen it, I can open it in safe mode. Now I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still no luck. I think there is something screwy in the registry but no idea how to fix this.  Thanks

Ok, would it be a case of deleting the .pst's and letting outlook create a new one? I have backed the pst's up incase.
 
I have now deleted 2007 and installed 2003 - but now when i try open Outlook i get the error - This application has failed to start because the Mapi32.dll was not found. Reinstalling this may fix the problem. (which it doesnt)
 
Is the dll actually there?
If it is you may need to register the dll.
start - run - regsvr32 <path & filename of dll>

I finally managed to get it fixed last night, the issue was with the file Mapi32.dll. The fix is to rename this file to .old and then run an app in your system32 folder called fixmapi.exe. This resolved the issue, Outlook opens up fine now.
 
Hi Guys, I have a problem installing Any version of Office 2007 on a certain laptop. I do everything up till it starts the install, then it just suddenly says "Microsoft Office Professional Plus (or Enterprise or whatever I try) 2007 encountered an error during setup" no error code or anything, just a close button. Only office 2003 that can install.
Google didn't help much. So now I'm coming to you guys.

What version of Windows are you running? Service Packs installed? Office 2007 needs quite a few things that were released between service packs.
