Let me start of by saying that I'm HUGE fan of Afrihost, and solute them for EVERYTHING they have done to get us here....uncapped products everywhere. Face it, if it weren't for their R29 per GIG...uncapped products would be upon us now.
Kudos to Gian for his honesty
But i believe your problem lies here....
Initially you will be getting our standard service. (i.e.
certain ports are shaped somewhat and web and email are
prioritised.)
After you have moved 30 GBs you will be moved into a
different category whereby certain ports will be shaped
more aggressively. However, web and email will still be
prioritised.
After moving a total of 60 GBs you will be moved into a
different category where your line speed is throttled to
1024 kbps per second and certain shaping protocols are in
place.
After moving a total of 90 GBs then you will be moved
into a category where you will be throttled to 512 kbps.
Certain shaping protocols will also be in place here.
After moving a total of 120 GBs you will be moved into a
category where your line will be throttled to 386 kbps.
Certain shaping protocols will also be in place here.
After moving a total of 150 GBs you will be moved into a
category where you are throttled to 128 kbps.
You will never be capped.
The problem with this method is your experience will degrade as the month goes by. Like previous posters say, i pay R413 + R131

per month for 4MB service....and with a degrading service as the month go by is seriously NOT LEDGEND...wait for it....ARY...
I for one like to go youtube or movies.com, watch a few vids, in decent quality once every few days. This alone would amount to 30GIG....especially if you stream IPL from youtube....then you go well over that. I believe that alot of users are getting punished for others "abuse".
I think you guys should bring back the 100 or 200GIG FUP.....and if you hit this soft cap...then do the throttling/shaping....
Also, if you guys decide going this route, you HAVE to change the name of the account, do not call it UNCAPPED....
I still think paying R499 for 100GIG data....R4.99 per GIG isn't bad
P.S With 8/10/12MB ADSL on the cards, the current situation will get even worse
