Eh, sometimes stuff happens. My router cut out and needed to be rebooted while I was at work so the download ended up taking longer than expected.

Also, remember to take the fusion core out of your suit when you get out... if you leave it powered up, someone might take it!

I played a bit this morning. Made my character (female), after the first cut scene I decided that I did not like the look in game, so I restarted. I'll continue this afternoon till the cut scene again and see if she is aesthetically pleasing for the long journey ahead, if not, restart!

I think most PS4 and XB1 games can play without any internet connection, but you do not want to do that. The patches are pretty much required for an acceptable experience. If you don't have internet at home you need to cart your XB1 around to places that do have internet.

In the case of Fallout 4, I think console players did have a big day one patch to download.

Nah, Xbox One patch was about 500MB the rest installed from Disc

I'm on a 2mb line and I've never seen steam so slow,even changed to capped account to see if that'd make a difference. Oh well just have to be patient.

I wonder why there isn't a company in major cities with fibre connections that will allow you to take your pc there to download stuff like this for a small fee? Or even let you buy a copy of the game file for R50? For major titles there should be a lot of interest for this.

Tried to get a copy today, I didn't pre-order. According to BT and the megarom rep that was in the store, the country is out of stock, they need to import more copies. Though apparently stock is arriving tomorrow. Luckily got the last copy in another store

Not a bad idea but I'd rather be safe and wait than lug my monster case around, just incase. I've been waiting for the game for ages, I can wait a bit longer. But it does suck.

You could always just get a repacked torrent which would be much quicker and then move the game files across to your steam folder.
