Nice :) I have the 2012 model. The full HD screen on the 2013 model must be awesome.

Wait, explain. How do Amazon cover the warranty? I'm genuinely asking, as I purchased mine through Amazon...

Wouldn't Amazon send a courier to pick the tablet up? Now you're making me scared lol, I remember reading that somewhere. It was sent from Amazon directly to me no package forwarding services.

Don't think so, no. I've never heard of Amazon handling warranties on behalf of another company.
 
Got my notification on Friday and updated. Literally zero change. Battery drain issue is still there.
 
How hard is it to fix a bricked nexus?
I know some one who is selling a bricked 2013 model for dirt cheap. So was thinking of buying it and seeing if i can fix it for myself.

The guy had attempted to load a custom rom, after that it wouldn't boot up.

Depends on how stuffed it is... Check if you can go into download mode or recovery before going ahead

its a gumtree buy :P saw it for R800. He said it wont even turn on. So I can't really test it by leaving it on charge for a few hours.
 
I read that someone had a 2012 Nexus 7 for sale with a broken screen he was selling for R400, so I bought it.
I scored big time as it turned out to be a 32GB 3G version.
I ordered a digitizer/LCD combo via Ebay and it was posted to my door (no import VAT, lucky me). My brother, a technician by trade, fixed it for me. So I now have a working 2012 3G Nexus that cost me a total of R520 (screen) + R400 Item + R150 courier as I am in Cape Town and he was in Durban.
Grand total R1070.

Now, full of p... and vinegar, I have just ordered a 2013 LTE version from Ebay - for $125 (Postage $40). Beat that kiddies!
I am mad. Mad but happy.

I did, but I have just sold the 2013 Wi-Fi one I had to pay for the LTE version.
I thought the stereo speakers top and bottom were the best feature.
Didn't I mention that I had the 2013 Wifi version? No?
Then I probably didn't mention the 8GB 2012 I also have. I think I must sell that one. 8GB is lame.
I know I am Nexus mad, but I'm happy.
