Cm 7.1 Will have to find my Earphones to find out about Radio and will inform you about memory as soon as I get home.

Removed some system apps and flashed the nightly. Seems to have sorted out the problem for now.

how will be able to get 3G signal on my phone ALL THE TIME?
Spent most of my time in the Quality Lab (at work) and can only pick up EDGE...?

If you go to Settings > Mobile network settings > Network mode you can force it to 3G (WCDMA) only, but if the 3G signal is weak it will absolutely chow your battery.
 
Also, looking for a 3d shell/launcher except Spb (too much force closes and other probs) and Regina (not sooo 3D)...any suggestions???

herb1 ive used spb and i bought it.and i dont get any forced closes
tell us which rom you using etc....

trying to authorize google voice on my phone and i get the message "your phone number could not be verified please try again"

Installed it yesterday....
Painless process and everything works fine....

like the "updated" sense.... and the fact that I don't have to have the Facebook app!

Thanks for the feedback. I installed it as well. Could not see much of a difference to be honest. Only new feature is the Restart option when holding down the power button. Quadrant bench mark test it the same, but it feels a bit quicker.
 
I finally installed cyanogen 7.1. Installed with no problems and I'm pretty impressed with it. The next day I see 2.3 ofw release - go figure.

Think I'll still stick with cyanogen though, I like it.
 
Today I finally took the plunge and rooted my phone and installed a custom ROM.

I've been using Froyo on my phone since I got it a year ago, and just got sick of HTC Sense and how slow and useless it was.

So today I took the plunge and in an hour I was a proud owner of an HTC Desire running Cyanogenmod 7.0.3.

I am running Gingerbread (Android 2.3.3) and it's awesome! It feels like I have a new phone. There is so much more to customize and so many new and useful options. Seriously loving it.
 
I shall use Cyanogen for a while :D

Then i shall check out those ones you listed!

Boy does it feel good to be free!
