Official HTC One (M8) Thread

Details of the HTC One (M8) coming to South Africa:
We can reveal that the Gunmetal Grey version of the HTC One (M8) will be coming to South Africa in the 32GB model. The phone comes with expandable storage and 50GB Google Drive space for two years.
The HTC key features of the Zoe camera, Blinkfeed and Boom sound have all been improved upon and the phone has a high quality metal unibody with a Smart Sensor Hub for its motion control features.
The UFocus functionality provided by the two back facing cameras enables some amazing editing tools and the front facing 5MP “selfie” camera with an 88 degree angle lens means you can take pictures of up to four people from the front camera.

And my experience has been that I dont get to physically hold the item before spending the money.
At least with the last 2 smartphones, they only open the box after you pay and rarely have a real model available.

imo holding it makes no difference... but hey. Each cosumer to his own ;)
 
IMO, it makes a difference... Unless you are really good at imagining how a phone physically feels in your hands :D

Luckily most cell phone shops in the bigger malls have real models to play with now.
 
I hope the M8 is cheaper than the S5. I don't really need to pay the earth for the latest and greatest...
 
Does anyone know when Vodacom will be getting stock for this phone? For the last month the reply they have been giving is:

Wait for one (m8) prime or ace, cheaper (ace) and better (prime)
 
Judging by the fact that the Vodacom stores keep on saying "We don't know if we are even getting the device..." makes me think HTC that even the prime will be hard to get. I personally think HTC could pull a Motorola on us and stop sending their devices to our shores. My personal bet has the LG G3 being ready long before the HTC is... <_<

Vodacom isn't the problem - HTC themselves are.
 
Yeah I know that. It just sucks seeing such a great piece of hardware being launched and a month down the line you still cannot get it :(.

yeah, decent, snuggly fitting case.
I have it on currently, but I would rather enjoy the premium build of the device. Just a bit paranoid about dropping/scratching it at the moment :P
